Saving costs with better connectivity in AWS VPC.
Is that possible? Yes! At the AWS Community Day DACH, I will share my experiences in building advanced VPC architectures.
Will I see you on the 17th of September in Munich?
After giving it a lot of thought, we made the decision to discontinue new access to a small number of services, including AWS CodeCommit.
While we are no longer onboarding new customers to these services, there are no plans to change the features or experience you get today, including keeping them secure and reliable.
We also support migrations to other AWS or third-party solutions better aligned with your evolving needs. Keep the feedback coming. We’re always listening.
Hey AWS builders, before you go on vacation, don't forget to register to the AWS Community Day DACH in Munich:

There are also good news about digitalization in Germany: Just uploaded some bills to @KfW portal for my reconstruction grant and it analyzed it immediately, corrected payout amount (to the better) and confirmed the payout date in a few days. No human interaction. #goodnews
Congratulations @osterjour for organizing the AWS UserGroup Munich for 10 years!! According to https://t.co/8hguPAVWfP I joined the first time in 2016 (actually as speaker), but I think I sneaked in already earlier.
To the Munich folks: See you later!

Starting the week with two ugly bugs:
1) Cloudformation allows to update the same TaskDefinition Family from multiple stacks 🤯
2) EcsRunTask task in StepFunctions CDK references task definition only by family, w/out revision 🤦♂️

@NIDeveloper@linda_mhmd@AWSCommunityDE That would have made it even harder for us 😜 But if you can squeeze it in to visit us, you’re always welcome in Munich!
We made it! We selected 28 awesome talks out of 240+ submissions. Many hours were invested and I will write a blog post about our process soon.
Watch https://t.co/dRSSeDaZuw as our speakers will soon show up there

Serverless shifts complexity from ops to system design.
While I'm super happy with this shift, I'm less and less convinced that most devs will be happy with, or even have the skillset to make the shift...
Ops at scale is hard, but there's a low entry point. Anyone can run an app on a server, even if that's far from what we'd reasonably consider as "production-ready".
On the other hand, system design is hard even at the entry level. Even a toy project can present you with tough decisions and trade-offs to consider 🤔
@ghohpe's serverless illusion is sinking in...
What options do I have if I want to throttle parallel executions of a StepFunction? The SF is triggered by a queue and spikes should be throttled to not run into some other AWS rate limits. #AWS
One more and we will already have as many submissions as last year's total. This is crazy and I'm looking already forward to it (although it will be hard to pick). And yes, the Call for Papers is still open until Sunday June 2nd! #AwsCommunity
