Stale take about TLJ. Rian Johnson maybe took it a bit too far, but it was established in TFA that Luke had given up and self-exiled years prior. If Luke immediately changes his mind and rejoins the Rebels as soon as Rey finds him, it makes no sense within the established story.
For The Last Jedi (2017), Mark Hamill fundamentally disagreed with Rian Johnson’s "jaded" take on Luke Skywalker. He famously told the director, "I pretty much fundamentally disagree with every choice you’ve made for this character."
@magnetoshotjfk It's super random, but I actually have a copy of this signed by Mark Waid, the writer. I picked it up along with another DD book from his run when he came to my local comic book store, and of course asked him to sign the DC books I had of his. Super nice guy!
