Atlanta officials and police have increasingly used military language to describe the fight to Defend the Atlanta Forest. So here's a short list of war crimes they've committed against Forest Defenders and Cop City protesters. 🧵
We censor to protect you.
We censor to shield you from harm.
We censor to strengthen your democracy.
Most of all, we censor because we love you --
With Big-Brotherly love,

If Bernie's Social Security bill was signed into law last year, Elon Musk would have paid $2.9 billion more in taxes, no one making $250,000 or less would've paid a penny more in taxes, benefits would have gone up by $2,400 a year & Social Security would be solvent for 75 years.
Atlanta metro police raid a public park, murder a protestor so they can build a #CopCity in ATL. No officer name. No bodycam footage. No police accountability.

Manuel Teran, AKA Tort, was murdered by police yesterday. They were camping in a public park to defend the Weelaunee Forest. They are the first environmental protester we know to be killed by US police.
This is a big thread of submissions to love and mourn Manuel.
This is your reminder that in 2015, #LakeithSmith (a 15-year-old), was sentenced to 65 years in prison for the death of his friend who was murdered by an Alabama police officer.
Lakeith is now 23, still in prison, & yes- you read the first sentence correctly.
In short— as many activists & scholars have previously predicted—
THEY ARE PREPARING TO POLICE THE COLLAPSE.
We must organize accordingly. Our survival and the future of human survival of the planet depends on all of us.
$117,000 combined bail for 7 people on trespass and "terrorism" charges in #AtlantaForest?!?
This is straight out of the playbook that police and prosecutors used against the civil rights movement in the '60s. https://t.co/uWyN67KxOC
Police in Georgia killed more people last year than any other year in the past decade, with Atlanta police reporting some of the largest increases in deadly police violence in the state. https://t.co/0VQVssR82S
a lot of people are mad at this but you have to understand that tech biz guys don’t know about real books such as Moby Dick or Don Quixote. they think all books are called Thought For Food: Hack Your Brain’s Diet or The Squint Principle: See Less, Perceive More
I understand food insecurity exists. It ALSO exists for disabled academics who have allergies and never get safe food accommodations. We cannot be relying on events to tackle food insecurity when we could just PAY grad students and other academics fair wages.
