The Dutch; Swedish care systems have been explored for decades but have not been implemented here

Ive worked with some “lay MWs” who want to interfere when your back is turned - id call that dangerous imo

Its Not to dictate which way the baby is to be born or ignore what the mother requests

Doulas do have a place but not if they think they can tell me how to care for a labouring woman
I have worked hard for my experience & still have mothers /families that keep in touch

I am a MW & have always been honest; sometimes to my own detriment - but i will call it out.

However, it has been identified that some MWs are not always honest & hope this is what you are referring to whilst commenting on hearsay

However, i agree thst some MWs have been identified as not always being honest.

But you cannot tie everyone with the same brush

When they fail to monitor or treat mums / babies with what is considered to be expected care

Normality is nothing to do with negligence
Except when MWs keep women / babies as normal when they are not

@EmilyJBarley There are not enough staff to care for the women, newer mind considering the fear of litigation

They can produce as many guidelines as they like but if there are not enough staff to care for women, or no beds - mistakes will happen
