and no I didn’t take stats so that’s probably not the most accurate math ever but STILL THERE SHOULD BE 0 OF US WITH CANCER all of us are under 30!!!!!!! Most of us have been diagnosed for a few years!!!!!!!!! We’re too young for this shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s actually so fucked up how many kids from LHS have/had cancer. There’s five of us. FIVE!!!!! When I graduated there was ~100 per grade, and I’m sure it’s a little higher now, but with that estimate that’s 1.25%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It should be 0%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so ready with my 4 quarters and 1 dime and now I look like an idiot shoving nickels and dimes into the little hole bc it WONT EVEN TAKE MY $1 COIN even though it says it accepts $1 coins 😔
@BACHOPPEDOBAMA theres a big intersection between the queer communityand drug users/addicts. I don’t find it in alignment with community to disregard that as something to care abt. You don’t have to stay with the addict who hurt you personally. Just give a shit about a problem in your community
Any queer person arguing against this or blaming the addicts is an embarrassment to the queer community. Has everyone forgotten that addiction is a disease? Why are ppl suffering with a disease beneath you? And why do you think ppl beneath you should suffer?
we need to talk about how much of a problem meth is in the gay community but people have deeply ingrained biases towards addicts and gay men which just exacerbates the problem
@BACHOPPEDOBAMA I understand your point here, I feel very strongly about my stance on this issue but you’re right, I shouldn’t shut down a differing opinion completely. I’m not suggesting we should enable drug addicts. Compassion and enabling are two very different things.
@BACHOPPEDOBAMA@jonochircop@petermarietoto It doesn’t have to be you doing the work 1:1, you don’t have to be a counselor in addiction. I just think opening up the conversation is important, in the hopes it leads to less shame around someone admitting they have an addiction & seeking treatment
@BACHOPPEDOBAMA@jonochircop@petermarietoto I understand this, I have seen firsthand how addiction can tear a family apart. And I don’t in any way expect you or anyone to stay with someone who is abusive. I just agree with Peter; my community is my circus, even if I wouldn’t make the same decisions as them.
@BlTTERGOODBYE I’m so sorry people have given you shit over this, that’s so not okay. You deserve to spend your money on whatever you want, you deserve to have fun!!!!!! It sucks how rampant ableism is. Sending you much love 🫶
