We found and fixed two issues that could explain this degradation of the capability of GPT-5.5 in Codex over the last ~ 48 hours.
We are monitoring over the coming hours to fully confirm and I will reset usage limits this evening.
Apologies and now is the time for /fast maxxing.
To confirm, there are now more people building on ICP / Internet Computer at any one time, than on every other blockchain in existence combined.
Caffeine ☕ is still in beta, with numerous key features still being rolled out, and marketing remains experimental. Tick tock.
#ICP was never about the cheap casino-floor hype—it was the raw crypto physics humming under the hood. That’s what dragged me in. Four years tangled in IC tech, recently pacing like a half-mad code-sheriff in a ’60s noir trench coat, and only now do I see the real beast waking up.
I went bull, bear, then deep into the basement—chain-smoking my way through five straight months of AI experiments, trying to push the machines until they squealed. And somewhere in that hallucinatory jungle of code and sleepless nights… the next logical evolution snapped into place like a loaded magical bazooka.
Maybe the IC founders smuggled alien tech in their pockets. Maybe it’s just the natural arc of centuries of human obsession. Doesn’t matter. What matters is the secret gear I’m holding now, humming like a reactor in the fog-of-war.
And I’ll tell you this straight:
I’ve never been more god-tier bullish on IC.
This thing is going to tear open the floorboards of the industry. Everyone gets disrupted. ICP → top 3. Sooner than you think.
Immediate fallout:
1.IC DeFi becomes sharp, clean, brutal—and actually works.
2.We need more developers, not less. A whole new wave of them. The frontier is wide open and screaming.
This is the second chapter of my exploration into $ICP — and honestly, I didn’t expect to write it so soon.
After publishing Part I, one question kept circling in my mind:
Why have blockchains failed, for so many years, to host real applications?
The deeper I dug, the clearer it became:
Most blockchains maintain an eternal ledger.
Almost none of them provide an execution environment where an application can actually live.
And that led me to a conclusion that felt almost uncomfortable at first:
Most chains can record applications, but they cannot host them.
Only ICP can actually run an application on-chain.
Why?
Because the Canister + Subnet model is not about optimizing TPS —it is about giving applications a runtime, something that can execute, evolve, and still be cryptographically verifiable.
And this matches perfectly with the ambition of @caffeineai:
to make AI-generated applications not only runnable, but provably real.
======= My Experience with Caffeine AI ======
I tried building a simple X402 news aggregator:
https://t.co/pFXnMDwtKW
Architecture:
The flow is surprisingly elegant:
1️⃣It generates a https://t.co/taQ8WqcszV from your idea
2️⃣It writes both frontend & backend in Motoko
3️⃣It deploys everything directly onto ICP
It took multiple iterations — and plenty of bugs — to get it working.
The vibe-coding experience is still not on the level of Vercel, not yet.
But that wasn’t the part that shocked me.
The Moment That Hit Me
For the first time, I felt the sense of:
“My application is actually running on the blockchain.”
Not a contract.
Not a transaction.
A backend service — hosted on-chain, continuously running, callable, capable of initiating logic by itself.
This capability simply does not exist on most chains.
Smart contracts elsewhere cannot initiate execution; they can only react.
ICP provides something the rest of the industry never built:
a chain-level runtime.
Why Caffeine AI is ICP's Best Gift
But this isn’t just about another example of blockchain use cases.
What makes Caffeine AI so compelling is how it brings the concept of "always-on" applications to life on ICP.
For Caffeine AI, the focus isn’t just on building apps — it’s about building verifiable, persistent, on-chain applications that continue running, evolving, and improving without stopping.
That’s exactly why Caffeine AI is the best gift ICP could receive:
It’s not just showcasing ICP's technical potential; it’s pushing ICP's true power into the real world. It’s opening the door for more developers to easily build applications that are guaranteed to stay alive as long as the nodes keep running.
Could Other Ecosystems Do This?
Theoretically, yes:
- Commit hashes on Ethereum
- Store code on Filecoin or EthStorage
- zkVM for verifiable execution
- Git-driven vibe coding like Vercel with on-chain commit attestations
Yes, you could stitch together a “verifiable upgrade pipeline”.
But here’s the thing:
When you deploy with @caffeineai, your app lands inside ICP’s runtime.
As long as the nodes keep working, your application stays alive.
This liveness guarantee —
this sense that “my app is truly alive on-chain” —
is extremely hard to replace.
And that’s exactly why I had to write Part II.
WordPress powers 43% of the internet. If Caffeine captures just 1% of that market... That is 4 Million Canisters running on $ICP
Every app created = New Canisters. New Canisters = More Cycles burned. More Cycles burned = Deflationary pressure on ICP
We aren't just building apps anymore. We are building the fuel for the fire. 🔥
CAFFEINE LABS AG HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY INCORPORATED IN ZUG, SWITZERLAND, WITH A CAPITAL CONTRIBUTION OF 380K $ICP, PER THE SWISS COMMERCIAL REGISTER.

@icterminal Please see ICR post. Caffeine will be a for-profit so can raise growth capital and execute like an aggressive tech venture (it already is) with purpose of driving massive usage of the Internet Computer (targeting millions of apps) Much work behind scenes, details will come later
@Markus_B30 @kimbal The rumored partnership between Coinbase and ICP is living inside a quantum probability between two dimensions just waiting for divine consolidation.
