When Twitter was much younger, we only had 140 characters to play with. So in 2013 I wrote a wee book of 140 aphorisms, each containing exactly 140 characters. Returning now to mature twitter I try to construct every response with precisely 280 characters. https://t.co/Cy7ymiTAnB
Anybody like to hazard a guess as to the meaning or significance of this man's ink? And then a twee story about a mortar emplacement with no military function? Asking for a friend. https://t.co/Eu11BlO77f
@EssexPoliceUK Seriously? You are the police! You are not supposed to take sides nor advocate for any particular ideology while implying that those criticising it are in breach of the law. It's really quite simple. It's not allowed. So why are you doing it? Misplaced virtue signalling, or what?
Apparently 143,000 words is too many for a normal book. The industry standard is more like 70,000. Funny how nobody told Proust that. Or Tolkien. Or Tolstoy. The word count of a book should be however many the writer needs to tell the story. Otherwise we are not writing anymore.
Virtue signally twattery!!Careers and precious pensions to protect? Too cowardly to speak truth to power, as you once thought so hip to call it? Too spineless to question the opinions of adolescent activists, who have discovered the truth for the first time? Your own offspring?!?
