KUPPET to lobby President William Ruto to increase the salaries of its members, noting it was pushing for a 48% salary raise for teachers, but like other civil servants, they are only getting 7% - 10% from the government.
According to a memorandum presented to the President reviewing the 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), KUPPET requested for:
—A 48% salary increase to cover inflation.
—KES 3B for promotions.
—Increase in house allowance, community allowance, science teachers allowance, and risk allowance.
