I'm a 71-year old retired TWC Economist. Favorite scripture: Romans 8:38-39. My preferred writers are: Joseph Conrad, Isaac Asimov, CS Lewis, and JRR Tolkien.
@saveaustintx And not only that, the price of warehouses in Austin is not going up or staying the same. It's going down, but of course the Austin City tax payers literally get stuck with the bill!
It was a poorly officiated big game that I saw last night between Purdue and Texas. The game replay today showed the player who tipped the game-winning shot shoved the Texas player out of the way with his forearm. Since when do 2.5 min TV commercials come between free throws!
@bryanbrosgolf I guess I prefer less trolling on the golf course. To me golf is a game amongst friends and a good portion of the people in the Internet tournament were acting like cutthroat trolls. I prefer the good humor of George, Wesley, Bob and FP, not to mention Golden Boy Grant.
@PaigeSpiranac Just a note--You are a class act, and the Internet Open was appropriately named because there were a lot of trolls making trouble for regular golfers. Keep playing with good people and we'll keep watching your brand!
@Internetinvite I don't know about peak performance, but they are entraining and far from being internet trolls like some of the commenters were. FP, Bob, Joey, George and Wesley have my attention when they put up content on YouTube.
@saveaustintx I think you could probably anticipate between 20% and 25% on wasteful spending programs. If you cut out 85% of spending that goes to NGO's and non-profits you could save substantial tax payer's money, and probably eliminate almost all kickback programs.
@LoewyLawFirm Go back to the 1960's and you had the Encyclopedia Britania and the Encyclopedia Americana competing against each other. What a luxury it was for families to have those in their libraries.
@saveaustintx It's been expensive for a long time at the Texas State Fair. Now days you have to buy coupons. Realitically to keep from spending hundreds of dollars you have to budget. Why anybody would budget for fried foods and funnel cakes, plus all the rides, I can't imagine.
@AleshireLaw Bill you know the inflation rate now is around 2-2.5%. That means the city is increasing it over ten times the inflation rate, and the county about 5 times the inflation ratee. Only voters can stop this madness.
@chiproytx Look at Litle Sister in his last Austin City Limits. Before the string broke and the guitar change, Reese Wynans almost stole the show with his piano solo. But nobody steals the show from SRV. Also from ACL, see Mary Had a Little Lamb. Vituoso isn't sufficient to describe SRV.
@JeffWilsonTXR I would have asked for an autographed program and maybe a light blue jersey. I probably would have actually asked the usher if I could walk the ball on down tot he dugout and been happy that he had it. Maybe I could have gotten some mementos from the dugout.
@saveaustintx It's not! I live in a suburb of Houston and as bad as Houston is, Austin is worse. You stay out of certain neighborhoods in Houston and San Antonio at night, but in Austin you need to stay in doors in many neighborhoods at night.
@jimcosman2 You might want to read Matthew 5:9. You might also remember what Christ said was the work that must occur in John 6:29. Ultimately if a man is trying to bring peace among warring nations, is this swuch an ungodly stance? Jesus will judge DJT and the United States voters.
