#EndOfBEEI_V | Today marks the end of Phase V of the Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI).

For 6 months Education Assistants have shown up in over 20 000 schools across the country, assisting teachers in classrooms, helping learners to read, and taking care of school maintenance.

The DBE appreciates the #BEEI_V cohort; they have left a long-lasting impact not only on the learners they interacted with daily, but also on the basic education sector as a whole.

@DBE_SA what s going on with #BEEI Phase V payments? Everytime we're supposed to get paid there's stories. This a fifth phase, on the 4th months. What is delaying?

The BEEI Phase V is so problematic. A lot of the Education Assistants have not been paid for September and registers from June to September are wanted on the last day of the month . What is going on???
