Monday 10/21: the last in-person West Cliff meeting (for a while at least). 5:30-7:00pm, London Nelson. The only thing decided so far: 1-way 'Pilot Program' is dead.
Tell them to keep considering circulation for the entire neighborhood, and to make WCD safer for all users
Evening, folks! Iโm once again at Half Moon Bayโs hottest venue, the Ted Adcock Community Center, for the third planning committee discussion on a 100% affordable housing project for senior farmworkers.
Hopefully the 3rd timeโs the charm charm! ๐ค๐ป๐งต
CA's Little Hoover Commission has released its CEQA CEQA & recommendations, following a year-long investigation.
It's excellent!
Here's hoping that LHC will monitor & report on implementation, especially by @Cal_OPR.

OPINION: West Cliff Drive: The city council approved the vision, but we still have far to go to achieve real safety for pedestrians and cyclists https://t.co/ujAQw7Ha1r โฌ ๏ธ Two @BikeSantaCruzCo board members weigh in with a Community Voices op-ed
@cyclelicious I thought it was pretty much entitled (and no real legal means for City to deny project), but still an avenue to appeal (and hopefully City says, this is entitled so appeal is denied)
Thanks to my neighbors
for dropping this note about the proposed 59 housing units
at the Food Bin on Mission, but:
I support this project!
Also this will have no parking for residents, which is a very good thing

@calisurf Save West Cliff was also bad. They formed to start a dialogue, but when the data pointed to a mixed use shared solution (1-way), they said, no not like that! After the meeting they reinforced 2-way as the future. Another group of conservative protectionists
In Santa Cruz this week, multiple local surf groups lobbied hard against a plan to add a protected bike lane along iconic West Cliff Drive. They won and City Council killed it. Iโm with Louis, these groups arenโt environmentalists
