Busy day preparing for #RemarkableBooks on Friday - printing labels, cases arriving and building cubes.

Because we’re all working so hard for the #RemarkableBooks exhibition, the office will be CLOSED for the next two weeks (Mon 23 June-Mon 7 July)
We will be taking bookings for appointments Tuesday 8 July onwards.

We will keep an eye on the email and the phone though. ☎️

Thank you to @Samanthahharvey for presenting us with a copy of her Booker Prize-winning novel ‘Orbital’ for our collections.

The copy will be on display as part of our selection of Women Authors celebrating female writers in with Bath. Including Jane Austen. #RemarkableBooks

Oh joys! Another rush hour @GWRHelp train half length on a Friday.

@GWRHelp have messed up again… a 5-carriage train at rush hour heading for London from Bristol. It’s not the first time that we are expected to act like sweaty sardines. 🤬🤬

Apparently we’re supposed to wait for the next one as this one will be full. How about a proper train?

Tantallon Castle @welovehistory image & reconstruction. Castle had several outer ditches to delay besieging forces. A V-shaped Ravelin cannon platform was added in 1500s. It may have copied elements from English earth & timber fort at Haddington as it had Ravelin like corners.
