Killing your darlings is a good thing. Send chapters to colleagues asking for feedback with concrete requests on what to pay attention.

And that: a done thesis is better than a beautifully crafted but never finished thesis.

This morning, beams of protons from the #LHC splashed inside the ATLAS experiment at @CERN. Physicists use these splashes to test ATLAS sub-detectors and to synchronise them with the LHC clock – getting the experiment ready for #LHCRun3.

Yesterday, the ATLAS Experiment recorded its first beam-splash tests of 2023. These tests use a single bunch of protons from the LHC to shower the ATLAS experiment with particles – lighting up the sub-detectors to test their operation.
