@seanonolennon@afisheverywhere Plenty of completely accepted bits of contemporary physics seem ridiculous though. The Earth orbiting the Sun seemed ridiculous. Non-circular orbits, subatomic particles, etc.

It blows my mind that I only just recently discovered this fact about leap years on the Gregorian Calendar. In short, they're not technically every four years; they just happen to have been in each of our lifetimes.
