Liz Truss talking about the Rwanda flights on GBNEWS: "if people aren't on today's flight, they will be on subsequent flights." It seems like the government will beat the lawyers eventually! 👏
Time to pull out of the European Convention of Human Rights?
The European Courts should have no jurisdiction over the UK.
This meddling and interference could be a blessing in disguise folks. Boris actually hinted at leaving the ECHR earlier today.
We’ll keep you updated…
Just heard that apparently “Mr Rules” is currently under formal investigation by both the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards and the Police. Who would have thought.
They can't run a train service. They can't build ferries. They can't close the attainment gap or run the NHS properly. They can't hold a census without screwing it up or set up a benefits system without it taking an extra decade.
Why would you trust the SNP to start a country?
#RwandaDeportation . Never must we allow a foreign court to override the supremacy of our laws and our Supreme Court. This is an intervention into the laws enacted by a democratic state. Time to take the gloves off and not say what we’re doing - just do it. Now.
Which country keeps 70,000 of her armed forces in Germany to help Europe's defence? Britain.
Which country has the most open market of any in Europe? Britain.
When it comes to keeping the rules, which of the main European countries has been subject to fewest complaints? Britain
Whatever lofty phrases some other countries use about European union, when it comes to the nitty-gritty, they fight their corner too. Yet when we do the same, they argue we're not good Europeans.
Not good Europeans?
When anyone takes that line, just ask them this:
⚡️Ukraine’s military destroys over 60 units of Russian equipment in the south.
Ukraine’s Operational Command “South” reports that the Ukrainian military struck Russian military equipment in Kherson Oblast, including three howitzers, 19 armored vehicles and 33 other vehicles.
@DominicFarrell In fact some who arrive here illegally have already made asylum claims in many countries, and each claim has failed. Get here though and they’re pretty much guaranteed to stay. Simply unacceptable.
David Lammy waffling on about asylum and the Rwanda flight, yet no one has mentioned that the French could stop these dinghies in a heart beat.
Nothing could simpler than spotting a horde of people and a massive dinghy being carried through towns and across beaches in France.
Retribution, it appears, is coming for the 26 bishops who said the Rwanda policy “shames Britain”. Cabinet ministers openly talking about expelling them from the Lords now. “Only Iran also has clerics that sit in their legislature”, one tells me. “They’ll go”.
It is rumoured that Boris Johnson is considering withdrawing from the ECHR. I hope its true. Its a just a money making machine for lawyer's to manipulate the laws laid down by an elected government.
No one, from first principles, would have picked the Rwanda solution. But, as long as politically motivated lawyers and judges routinely overturn deportation attempts, we have no option but to move the process offshore.
We voted to take back control. That means our borders. It means being able to set VAT for Northern Ireland. The government must get on and legislate to put things right.
The @BBCNews doing what they do best.
That is finding people in Wakefield who are anti Tory, anti Boris and getting them to spout Labour propaganda.
In other words the #BBC are trying to influence the coming by election.
