@CeaseYourHeresy @_julia_meloni Again, because it ain't about the language. Latin mass in the vernacular is still a threat to progressives because of the traditional Biblical preaching against secularism and modernism plus a priest-led reverent liturgy of the Eucharist that disallows lay Eucharistic ministers.
@CeaseYourHeresy @_julia_meloni Catholics who go to Latin mass don't go because of Latin. They go for traditional Biblical preaching and the reverent liturgy of the Eucharist.
I spoke with a TLM FSSP priest and he agrees. It ain't about Latin for us folks. TLM can be done in English and folks would still come.
@_julia_meloni I went to my first Latin mass in the mid-2010s. I didn't become a regular until 2020. TLM churches were the only Catholic churches that fought to reopen as soon as possible. In the interim, when all Catholic churches were closed, I went to a Southern Baptist church on the river.
@aaronwood_sc John Jay HS implemented these dangerous techniques and became successful on the field. Jay went 10-3 and 3 rounds deep in the playoffs in 2023 after 3 prior unsuccessful seasons. That success can be had in football like this tells you how widespread bad football coaching is. Sad.
@StrengthDebates Very, very few people of all ages can run a sub 5.1 40 yard dash. Sub 4.5 is world class. The inflated self-reported numbers and the grandiose male ego have led us to believe that sub 5.1 is "slow," but it is fast in many contexts. Sub 5.1 330 pound DT is a lethal force.
@StrengthDebates Some CPT are better S&C coaches than CSCS. NSCA wants to mandate a CSCS in every HS, but administrators are not convinced because despite claims of higher liability (true), there are some very good CPT and sport coaches in HS weight rooms.
@txhsfbchat Gun Right Flex Split 26 Sweep. One word play call is bronco and bull for buck sweep right and left. Run it whenever you want because perfect execution will get you at least 5 yards per carry and set up the play action.
@StrengthDebates 1. I am a successful strength coach without a kinesiology degree so my answer is 20K followers.
2. Still, some of the most successful and highest paid people in any industry are not on social media (for good reasons). So 20K followers might not have as much mileage as you think.
@StrengthDebates At this point, it is no longer a question of access. It is about discipline and culture.
1. People are choosing to be unhealthy.
2. We live in an "affirming" culture that has normalized and is celebrating certain life choices.
People want affirmation, but they need correction.
@StrengthDebates You have to assume that your athletes are not exercising on their own over the weekend. Speed is the first attribute that atrophies. Therefore, we go hard on Mondays.
@missyMmcbeth@georgepoth67 Profit motive has been demonized in education for the past several decades in the teacher schools. Idea is that if you charge, then only the rich can pay and benefit so the gap between rich and poor expands. Yet, teachers give everything away and complain about being poor...
I hand-wrote a letter of praise and encouragement in cursive for every senior male and female athlete I am coaching at the high school for the senior retreat today because they all matter to me and they are all fearfully and wonderfully made by God. - Psalm 139:13-14 <><
It is Spirit Week at the high school and today is 1960s day. Fashion in the 1960s can be divided into early 1960s and late 1960s. My swag is definitely early 1960s.
@StrengthDebates Kids don't know what they don't know and the onus is on adults to offer opportunities. Left on their own, kids would be happy playing video games all day.
We live in times in which the culture says to let kids have autonomy and craft their learning. I think that is extreme.
Texas HS Football Player: "Coach Tran, how do you drip so hard? π§π
PT: "I can't help it. I do what I am supposed to do. I work hard."

@StrengthDebates Can't have any rando call himself an S&C coach, but we should not make it even more difficult to get a CSCS either. S&C is meaningful work, but it ain't brain surgery and should not aspire to be treated like a medical profession. Gatekeeping hurts the people we serve the most.
@StrengthDebates 1. Yes. Haha.
2. Not every measurable is a useful metric. We can't stop exercising just because the computers are down.
3. If this spinoff of sport science means that the S&C industry currently led by egghead academians will be given back to coaches on the field, then I approve
@txhsfbchat Randy Allen, HFC at Highland Park HS, is keeping the legacy of Tom Landry alive. I am cool with team polos on game days, but the suited and booted Tom Landry look needs to experience a widespread revival.
