We are participating in the Youth Energy and Mining Career Fair 2025, taking place at @Makerere University today.

The fair brings together students, young professionals, government agencies, and industry players to explore opportunities within Uganda’s energy and mining sectors. It aims to inspire and prepare youth with the knowledge, skills, and networks needed to meaningfully contribute to the country’s sustainable energy future.

UNOC is showcasing career opportunities across the Oil and Gas value chains, offering mentorship, and engaging participants on how to position themselves for emerging prospects in the sector.

Earlier, the event featured an inspiring keynote address by Ms. @Allen_Kagina, Chairperson of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Council (@TVETCouncilUg) who highlighted the importance of certification, skills development, and professional networking.

Through this engagement, UNOC reaffirms its commitment to youth empowerment and capacity development as key pillars for building a resilient and inclusive energy sector.

We have wrapped up the Youth Energy & Mining Career Fair 2025 at @Makerere.

Grateful to @UgandaChamber & @chamber_jr for organizing, and sparking youth innovation through this fair. The fair was pure inspiration. We loved chatting with bright young minds from all over the country about oil, gas, and beyond.

UNOC also showcased its progress across the petroleum value chain, from upstream to midstream & downstream, plus national content efforts aimed at building a competitive Ugandan workforce. During the Skilling & Employment Opportunities panel, our HR, Mr. @Ronaldkasu called for continuous learning as specialised skills become more crucial, stressing that “readiness is key to benefiting from sector opportunities.”

To every student who visited our booth, asked tough questions, and shared big dreams, thank you. You left us energised and confident that Uganda’s Oil and Gas future is bright because of YOU.

Beyond the scenic adventure, the trip was both fun and highly educational. Delegates from Tanzania and across the globe gained profound knowledge about Uganda’s vast mineral resources and the country’s potential within the energy and mining sectors. This excursion not only fostered cross-border collaboration but also deepened appreciation for Uganda’s natural and mineral wealth.

Stop 4✋: #MiningExcursionTrip The Tanzanian delegates visited Kasese Cobalt Company Ltd (KCCL), a pioneering establishment founded in 1999 and known for its contribution to Uganda’s mineral and energy sectors. The company plays a key role in cobalt production as well as hydropower generation, making it an important player in sustainable industrial development.

During the visit, the delegates were received by Mr. Mugabi, the Operations Manager, who shared a detailed account of the company’s history, its growth over the years, and its current operations. He explained how the company integrates modern technology and innovation to boost production and efficiency.

The team also had the opportunity to tour the operational sites, where they witnessed firsthand advanced machinery and processes employed in cobalt extraction and power generation. This stop offered delegates valuable insights into Uganda’s mineral potential and its role in powering both local and regional industries. #14thMineralWealthConference2025 #MiningExcursionTrip
