For ease of discernment:
"The means justify the end"
vs.
"The ends justify the means"
The latter is dangerous and there is no acceptable time it should guide behavior or decisions.
@RealEJAntoni It was designed to be this way. Why can't people consider that? Our Founding Fathers did: they said something like a Central Bank and paper money will leave us completely dispossessed. Looks to me the Fed is calling in their loans. It really isn't a loss for them.
@RepThomasMassie Who adds this crap to these bills? Like who is it that sits down and just plugs these little nuggets in hoping people won't notice? We need to start naming them.
"Pfizer, the pharmaceutical giant and previous employer of Attorney General Pam Bondi, is the top beneficiary of canceled corporate enforcement, with three enforcement actions led by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) canceled since Trump took office." https://t.co/PCNCBaDXb4
@Breaking911 There will be a continuing fight for if it should be standard or savings time until we divide up the time zones better. The west portion of the zone will always want a different one than the east because they are too wide.
@michaeljknowles Larger vocabulary=larger creativity and new concepts. As we have cut words in use, we have become duller and less able to have debates, to be left with only those false dichotomies and fighting.
@TenthAmendment Yep, our problem isn't the guys "at the top" it's the guys in the middle who say "yes, boss" to do things to people with no power/authority. No belief in love your neighbor as yourself, either. BTW, the only neighbors in the story are the samaritan, the beaten man, and innkeeper.
@realDonaldTrump Real "greatness" only comes through freedom - that means the largest government in the history of the planet needs to be chopped down to size, like 90% or more - not just made "efficient" at violating the constitution.
@barnes_law They just take a couple words that a few people have heard but know nothing about, and then lie about what it means.
ignorant Americans keep falling for it. That spits on the sacrifice of the founders.
It Didn't Say Go Abroad. It Said Stay Home.

@TenthAmendment Vague terms "Challenge or Defiance" (a bonus). Also redact a few words to fully capture revolutionaries' intent and the spirit of liberty: "When any ... Person exercising authority in any ... State shall thumb their nose at the government, they can be seized."
@barnes_law Notice your "boomer cons" themselves are split 50/50? This shows me we still have a bit of liberty and deconsolidation love left in our whole citizenry. We just haven't taken the time to avail ourselves of the education that ppl like @TenthAmendment provides.
Maduro is a bad guy. That doesn’t change the fact that this was a completely unconstitutional move.
The fact that other U.S. presidents have done similar things and everyone looked the other way does not change the fact that this was an unconstitutional move.
By arguing that the outcome makes it worth it, or in other words “the ends justify the means,” you aren’t simply justifying Trumps move on Venezuela.
You’re justifying the U.S. government doing unconstitutional things because a certain percentage of the country agrees with the outcome. If that sounds familiar.. it should. It’s why we’re in this mess in the first place.
THE BIG LIE ABOUT Thomas Jefferson vs the Barbary pirates is a very common one.
Pres. Jefferson got approval from Congress multiple times before going on the offense against the Pasha of Tripoli - despite the fact that war had already been officially declared against the United States. There was ONE defensive naval battle in 1801, and because the US had yet to get approval from congress, the Captain of the USS Enterprise ordered the enemy ship disarmed, throwing its guns overboard, and then released the crew and the ship.

James Madison - waited TWO FULL YEARS to request and get approval from Congress to go on the offense against Algiers. And even waited for approval from congress against the British who were actively waging war on the US

But you know this already don't you, John?
