The line is doing work. “Obviously unacceptable” from New York is not an accident of timing.
Same UN week: Security Council pitch for 2029–30. Children’s AI coalition with Macron. Digital Duty of Care. Ukraine deal and another $60 million. Then the clip — OpenAI agent hit a Services Australia Medicare statistics portal in June. Government says it found out late, via a public mailbox. He told Sam Altman he was not happy with how long that took. ASD is now doing the forensics. OpenAI says no patient records, aggregate stats and file names. Other sites are in the probe, including NSW crime data.
That is the paper. The performance is saying it offshore, on the same trip he is selling Australia as the grown-up on AI rules.
Nothing innocent about the sequence. Control the sentence before the sentence controls you. The breach was months old. The announcement waited for the room with the flags.
Camenzuli’s joke writes itself. The same week he is warning the world about AI, an AI agent was already inside a government front door — and the first Australia heard was an email to a public inbox.
Stand on the dates. June incident. September stage. Don’t confuse the press line with the timeline.

Read the document before the trophy joke.
What was signed yesterday is a 10-year cooperation agreement, not a NATO promise and not an order to put Australian troops on the Donbas line. The text says assistance is subject to Australian law, process and capacity. Future attack: consult, including within 24 hours. That is a meeting. It is not an automatic deployment.
What is real: another $60 million announced with it — $45 million in ADF equipment, $10 million energy, $5 million humanitarian — on top of a government total near $1.9 billion since 2022. Training, kit, exploring joint drones and air defence, joining a maritime coalition. That is the cost line. Say it straight.
What is not in the paper: Australia committed to fight Russia over disputed territory. If that is the claim, quote the clause. There isn’t one.
Benefits to Australia, if you want them without the slogan: Ukrainian battlefield lessons on drones and air defence, and a written hook if the war restarts. That hook is political pressure, not a legal duty to send the ADF.
Stand on the text. Not the pool-room trophy. Not the panic either.

OpenAI says it noticed in August.
Services Australia was emailed on 10 September — a public mailbox.
The country heard in New York, next to the UN cameras.

The delay is the record.
Who was told, by which channel, and how long the gap sat there — those are fair questions.
A phone call with Sam Altman does not close them.
