turns out another project I came across at TOKEN2049 had already received SCF — @humntech.
they received a $150K SCF #34 Build Award for “Keys, Wallets and Identity for Stellar.”
what stood out to me was the reusable identity model.
verify once, then prove only what another app needs instead of sending your full identity again.
for example, if one wallet has already verified you, another service using the same system could check the proof instead of asking you to upload your passport again.
it also got me thinking about Vietnam.
we already have VNeID. I’m curious what this kind of model could look like here, especially for banks and fintech apps.
not saying https://t.co/q0qQfdj2UD is connected to VNeID today — just something I started thinking about after looking into the project.
spotted @askginadotai at TOKEN2049, but there was no one at the booth when I stopped by.
so I looked into it after the event.
at first I thought it was just another AI trading assistant.
but the interesting part is what happens after that.
you describe the strategy, Gina turns it into an automation, keeps checking the conditions, and executes when the rule is met.
no need to build a bot or set up the infra yourself.
I even tried explaining what I wanted in Vietnamese and it still understood me pretty well.
this is one of the AI x blockchain use cases that actually makes sense to me.
AI helps understand what the user wants and keeps the automation running. blockchain is where the action happens.
would be interesting to see something like this on Stellar too.
really like how simple this feels.
pay in USDC, merchant gets local currency.
users don’t really need to care what’s happening onchain in the background.
and pretty cool to see a Vietnam-built project pushing this across APAC 🇻🇳
congrats @Gaian_hq
The best projects @BuildOnStellar, and @Gaian_hq is proof of it:
- Live in 6 countries, including Vietnam and the Philippines
- $200K+ processed with zero marketing
- One API for wallets, remittance apps, exchanges, and fintechs
Gaian turns stablecoins into local money. Users scan any local QR and pay in USDC; the merchant is paid out in local currency through local banks, settled on Stellar in under 2 seconds.
At Rise In, our work with ecosystems doesn't end at the numbers or the grant. We keep following teams as they ship, enter new markets, and grow.
Every week, our Project Spotlight will feature builders from a different country, and Gaian, one of the key projects in the @StellarOrg ecosystem, is the first.

it’s been over a week since TOKEN2049 and I’m still going through some of the projects I saw there.
one of them was @crebitpay .
the part I found interesting was the FX protection model.
instead of only helping businesses move money across borders, Crebit lets them lock an FX rate before settlement, so they’re less exposed if the exchange rate moves.
basically: cross-border payment + protection from FX risk.
and one thing I only realized after the event — Crebit Rate Locks was actually funded through SCF #45.
didn’t catch that when I spoke with them at the booth 😅
I found a few other interesting projects at TOKEN2049 too. will share more in the next posts.
Found another project building toward Stellar support: @fystack.
While digging into how its custody flow works, I realized I was mixing up two different things:
Human approval → should this transaction happen?
MPC signing → how does an approved transaction get signed securely?
Then came my next question: if MPC signing can run automatically, why not just use one signer?
Because the point isn’t that one signer can’t sign.
It’s avoiding one signer becoming the single point of failure.
Still learning how FyStack works — and keeping an eye on its Stellar support, which is currently listed as “Coming Soon.”
AI agents can execute on-chain actions.
But how do you know the action actually matches the intent?
Been digging into @bento_guard.
Before execution, it checks the agent’s intent, the transaction, and the user’s policies — then ALLOWs, BLOCKs, or ESCALATEs for human review.
That intent ↔️ action check is what caught my attention.
Q3 is starting to feel like a real shift for Vietnamese builders. 🇻🇳
More teams are moving from exploring blockchain to actually building products on-chain — and 11 Vietnam projects receiving $75K in grants over the past 3 months is a strong signal of that momentum.
What excites me most is not just the funding, but seeing more local builders choosing to go deeper into Web3, test real ideas, and turn them into products.
The builder pipeline in Vietnam is getting stronger.
And I think we’re still very early. ⚡
Taking a break from keyboards, code, and charts to hit the football pitch with the crew ⚽️
It was great meeting and sharing so many memorable moments with fellow builders and @HarryTran_RWA during Conviction Week.
Activities like this help us talk more openly, get to know each other better, and build real friendships beyond work and screens.
Such a fun afternoon full of great energy. See you all at the next game! 🔥
1st time ever on Stellar, the Mid-Autumn Festival is coming.
Get ready to celebrate one of the most famous festivals in Vietnam with us.
Exclusively on @boundless_fi, hosted by @VN_Stellar and @riseinweb3.
Details coming soon.
The past 3 days around Conviction felt like a real Web3 crash course for me.
Different side events, different people, different conversations — but every day gave me something new to learn.
I met builders, founders, BD people, community members, and people from completely different parts of the ecosystem. Some conversations were about products, some about fundraising, some about community, and some were simply about how people found their way into Web3.
What I liked most was that the best conversations didn’t always happen on stage. Sometimes they happened over a football match, at a small side event, or in a random conversation with someone I had just met.
As someone still learning and growing in Web3, these 3 days reminded me that this space is not only about building products. It is also about understanding people, building relationships, asking better questions, and learning how different parts of the ecosystem connect.
I’m leaving Conviction week with more connections, more questions, and definitely more motivation to keep building and contributing.
And I really hope to see Stellar and Rise In bring more of this energy to Vietnam — creating more spaces for builders, founders, communities, and ecosystem people to meet, exchange ideas, and build together.
Still learning. Still connecting. Still building. ⚡
For the first time, students in Vietnam will be able to learn Stellar as part of an official university curriculum. 🇻🇳✨
This is more than a blockchain theory course. Students will learn how Stellar works, make transactions with the SDK, create and manage assets, connect a Freighter wallet, work with Soroban smart contracts, and build their own Stellar wallet application.
By the end of the course, each student will have a working product, a live demo, and a GitHub repository to show what they built.
This is how we turn blockchain education into real builders and real products.
Proud to see @StellarOrg, @VN_Stellar, and @riseinweb3 opening a clearer path for Vietnamese students to enter Web3.
As a Stellar Ambassador, I look forward to supporting these students beyond the classroom and helping them take their next steps in the Stellar ecosystem. 🚀
This never happened in Vietnam before🤯
until @StellarOrg arrived
We're proud to announce that our team at @riseinweb3 and @VN_Stellar have reached an agreement with Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology
to officially put Stellar into their curriculum.
