Join us in November to shape the activities of this new medical humanities network! There is some budget to help with attendance primarily for PG students and those travelling from outside Essex.
The minimum UKRI PhD stipend is £16,062 for 2022/23.
Although PhDs are training and do not legally require minimum wage, a comparison is worthwhile:
National minimum wage (age 21-23) is £19,094 (40h/week).
After tax that's £16,836.
Living wage is £19,760 (£17,280 after tax).

Don't miss this #MedHums folks! We have organized a series of lectures on topics related to the Medical and Health Humanities for the month of October. Some of them will be held in English and some in Spanish, and you can join us in google meet or follow in streaming.
Thread on conference accessibility and inclusivity 👇
We had 5 guiding principles @phpi_glasgow that I’m really proud of - and that should guide every conference!
Many people at #phpi2020 said these resonated & that the atmosphere was welcoming, safe and inspiring. So...
Plans are afoot to get our MedHums ECR group back up and running and, since it will have to happen virtually, we figured why not open it up to members of other institutions? If you'd be interested in taking part in monthly Zoom chats on a medical humanities theme, pls follow/RT!
