Q: Since your early 20s, you’ve had the opportunity to work alongside some of the most renowned senior actresses, from Youn Yuhjung in Canola, Jeon Doyeon in Memories of the Sword to Kim Hyesoo in Coin Locker Girl.

What I find interesting is that these actresses don’t just recognize your abilities as an actress. They also seem to remember the time they spent working with you very fondly, and you can really feel how much affection they have for you.

I’d actually love to ask Kim Goeun herself about this. When you meet people on set not just your seniors, but also your juniors and other colleagues is there a secret to the way you approach and build relationships with them?

A: I don’t think there’s one specific way that I treat everyone.

Everyone has a different personality and temperament. Some people may also need a little more time to become comfortable with others, so I tend to observe them a lot at first.

Even before filming begins, when we have time for readings, meetings, or things like that, I usually spend that time observing and listening. I pay attention to the things they consider important and I listen carefully to what they have to say.

And until they actually ask me about myself, I don’t really talk too much about myself first. I try not to do that. But once they start asking me questions, that’s when I gradually take a step closer.

And once I take that first step toward someone, I’m actually the type of person who suddenly opens up completely. So from that point on, I don’t think I’m quite as cautious or reserved anymore.

태어났을때 너무 못생겨서 지어진 이름 김고은

김고은이 태어났을 때 4.1kg의 우량아였는데 당시 아기를 본 간호사가 아버지에게 "돈 많이 버셔야겠네요"라며 농담을 던졌음. 아기가 못생겨서 나중에 성형 수술비가 꽤 들겠다는 뜻이었음

아버지가 딸을 딱 안았는데 생각만큼 예쁘지 않아 살짝 당황하셨지만 자라면서 곱고 예뻐지길 바라는 마음을 담아 이름을 '고은'이라고 직접 지어주셨음

아버지가 바라던 것처럼 이름 그대로 고운 배우가 된 것도 좋고 이런 이야기를 웃으면서 말할 수 있는 단단한 자존감까지 너무 멋있음❤️

back in 2022, kim goeun adopted a rescue dog who was suffering from an incurable brain illness. the volunteer said wol-i couldn’t walk properly, her head was tilted to one side, and she struggled to keep her balance. while checking her condition during the adoption process, they discovered she had serious illnesses like pneumocephalus and brain herniation with no cure.

despite all of that, goeun personally came to see her and said she wanted to treat her and take care of her herself. the volunteer even said they were deeply thankful because it was such a huge decision to make knowing there was no cure, and goeun simply replied, “i’ll take good care of her ❤️”

and she really did. you could tell wol-i spent her remaining years being deeply loved and cared for. no matter how difficult it must have been, goeun gave her warmth, safety, and a family until the very end. wol-i has now passed away, but she was able to live her life surrounded by love thanks to kim goeun. she really did such a good job raising and loving her 🤍
