My friend recently took her parents on a trip to Durban. In their elderly years, they had never been there before… and to be honest, she was worried.
Her father is on 18-hour oxygen, and she kept asking herself, will he manage? But look at him… look closely. Is this even the same person?
He spent the whole day without connecting to his machine. The glow, the laughter, the happiness on his face… that’s something money can never buy.
In that moment, she didn’t just take them on a trip she gave them an experience. She saw their inner child come alive again.
And honestly… she was so proud of herself for that 🤍

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah Extends Message of Condolences Following the Passing of Hans “Ras” Sheehama
H.E. Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has learnt with deep sorrow about the passing of Hans Sheehama, well known as Ras Sheehama, a prominent musician from Namibia’s liberation struggle until his death, who passed away on Friday, 5 September 2025, at the age of 59.
In her message of condolences, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says:
“It is with deep sadness that I learn about the passing of Ras Sheehama, a true legend of Namibian music and culture.
Ras Sheehama was more than a reggae artist; he was a voice of hope, resistance, and unity who inspired generations before and after independence. Through his music, he embodied the spirit of freedom and reminded us of art's power to heal, challenge, and uplift.
His departure is a profound loss for the creative industry and the nation as a whole. In our darkest moments, Sheehama was the light that guided many of us. His passing serves as a sobering reminder of the silent battles many continue to face. The tragic circumstances of his death highlight the urgent need for our nation to strengthen our capacity to address the rising cases of suicide and to foster a society where no one suffers in silence.
On behalf of the people and the Government of the Republic of Namibia, I extend heartfelt condolences to the wife, the entire bereaved family, friends, fellow artists, and all who drew strength from his music. Let us honour his legacy not only by celebrating his contributions to music and culture but also by intensifying our efforts to support one another in times of struggle.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.”

Fellow Azanians, when President Nelson Mandela first announced public holidays in 1994, he had excluded the Sharpeville/Langa Massacre. He only relented after a national outcry, but named it Human Rights Day.
To us it remains Sharpeville/Langa Day.

🇩🇪 Thousands of new cars are rusting in a parking lot in Germany, no one is buying them anymore.
In the German city of Essen, about 6,000 new cars have filled a parking lot due to high prices and problems with the infrastructure for electric cars.
Among the abandoned cars are models of German auto brands Volkswagen and Audi. According to the employees of the site, the cars have been idle for more than six months.
“I have never encountered anything like this before, although I have been working here for more than 10 years.
Cars are only brought in, but almost no one drives them. People are not ready to pay such money for an electric car, and the development of charging stations and limited driving range scare off buyers," said one of the workers.
