A great lesson from games like backgammon, trading, League, etc: when you're down you want maximum volatility, when you're up you want strictly structure. Nietzsche spoke of this
All urges are contraindicators.
When u get the urge to flee, that means ur standing an inch away from the finish line. Ur at the Gates of Troy. But to push through that last 1% is gonna take more out of u than the first 99%. And u subconsciously know that.
So close yet so far.
As you finally start to do the thing yourself, you’ll realize there is nothing more disgusting than the man who perpetually talks about doing the thing but never actually does the thing.
He’s fallen in love with the prospect rather than the path traveled.
He’s addicted to the dopamine ignited from the idea instead of the compounding victories attained.
Neuroplasticity is realizing this is just your former self.
Kill that former self mercilessly & never look back.
You have to become an absolute cope machine.
I love sleeping 7-9 hours, it feels right.
But whenever I only get to sleep 4-5 hours I just say to myself that I’m batman.
And you know what? I don’t even feel that much more tired the next day.
There’s a lot that you can do with your mind.
Kind of insane how social anxiety is a thing. Have to remember being a kid and just walking up to whoever else was on the playground. Zero resistance joining in, saying you also want to play, etc. You just frictionlessly interacted with everyone without a second thought
Somewhere along the way the overthinking went crazy though. Now there's people who shake at the thought of calling a stranger, asking for what they want, even just making it known that they exist. But nothing actually changed. Doesn't make sense to somehow devolve in ability as your brain has continued to evolve
So many hard or scary things are merely effortless and natural human behaviors corrupted by warped perspectives that were never examined. Actions that don't require any skill other than literally breathing and being alive as you are yet are widely conditioned to be seen as some bold undertaking
Always need to remind yourself of this with whatever you do. Like you're just showing up. Opening your mouth so noises can come out of it. Everyone around you is a friend, customer, partner, mentor, whatever. Not a huge deal and never was. Playground has simply increased in size. Keep playing as you always have
