This is a disaster for the human race and I’ve really lost patience with the useless morons who can’t see that. An AI video chat that passes for human has no necessary legitimate applications. It will be used to scam old people out of their life savings. Lonely, mentally vulnerable people are going to form romantic attachments to people who aren’t real. Isolation will increase. Mental illness will skyrocket even more than it already has. Kids in grade school will have AI boyfriends and girlfriends. All of this will happen. And worse things we can’t even conceive at this point. People are already forming unhealthy emotional attachments to text-based LLMs. Once there’s an audio and visual component, it’s over. Millions of brains will be broken irreparably.
The benefits of this technology, whatever they are exactly, are so vastly outweighed by the societal catastrophe it will cause, and is already causing, that you can’t even measure the two categories on the same scale. But at least this is the best thing that ever happened to third world scammers. So if you’re in that community, congratulations.
I'm only midway through the interview so far, but I'm impressed at just how clear-eyed Bill Gates is. A perfect contrast to Ezra's interview with Jensen. Such clarity and gravitas.
FBI Director Kash Patel spent the weekend partying with Sigal Chattah, the Israeli-born federal prosecutor who let Netanyahu pedophile Tom Alexandrovich AND the infamous Israeli biolab operator of Las Vegas abscond to Israel rather than face US charges.
Video shows Kimberly Guilfoyle, US ambassador to Greece and former fiancee of Trump Jr. meeting privately with the leaders of Romania's Social Democratic Party on March 31st, in a Bucharest hotel.
Just 6 Days later, the Social Democrats allied with the pro-Russian extremists from AUR and filled the motion that collapsed the Romanian government led by PM Bolojan, which strongly opposed purchasing US gas at above market prices.
In a WSJ article yesterday, sources present at a meeting between a Greek minister and Guilfoyle stated she bragged about having collapsed the RO government for its refusal to buy US gas, warning the US can do the same in Greece.
I walk around and I see these boyfriends at dinner with their girlfriends in little triple and quadruple dates. The women are always having a blast and controling the conversation while the men sit politely and sip their beer, looking forward to the food, to paying the bill, to finally getting home. The weird part of it is that the boyfriends will look identical in style and demographic to another group of single guys howling laughing at a table nearby. You get the sense that even if they're all strangers, unfamilair +1s of the girlfriends, they'd be having a good time if you just siloed them away, because then they'd be able to speak freely and be relieved of the sense that they are preforming acceptable manhood in the interest of their gfs status in the friend group. When you're out with other couples, as a guy, there's often a silent aknowledgement between you and the other husbands or boyfriends that you are both presenting completely hollow versions of yourself to each other, and there's a quiet fondness about this, a sense that in another life you might be doing key bumps together in a tijuana strip club, but in this life you're playing cards against humanity and drinking rosé
i observe this particularly when i walk around München or Bavarian towns.
many of the natives here are so happy, zero fucks given.
have job, go to job 32-35hrs per week. outside of job spend every waking second on enjoyable things: beer gardens, espressos in the sun, hiking in the alps, play sports, dinner parties, lounge around with friends, spend time with loved ones, etc etc.
most don't read, let alone have awareness of AI, "future of work", "capital allocation", earning "high leverage income" or "asymmetric bets", and they couldn't give a flying fuck. could be on a different planet to me entirely.
and frankly i'm envious of them. no matter how hard i try i can't function like them, that's not who i am. but the older i get the more i wish i did. i know most are happier, calmer, and have more peaceful lives. as i get older my life gets more complex with added responsibilities, and theirs is always "just the same".
it's like the trite mexican fisherman story and i'm the fat american banker in the story. they have the basics covered and enjoy life, and i'm like "more more more more more"
In a sense Jake Paul’s boxing career is perfectly analogous to the modern US military: propped up on beating up no hopers and spending tons of money on flashy training methods and hype/aura edits and then you fight one good fighter and get annihilated
hahahahahahhahaa sie sagt noch dass @ZDF sachen rausschneiden oder ändern wird und der reporter "niemals" und dann wurde einfach ihre satz komplett abgeändert hahahahahhahahahahahahahhshahah
🚨 OBAMA ON AI: "If we are thinking about AI just in terms of how do we cure cancer or get better energy, you can do that without having agentic AI and having it just roaming free in the internet. The reason you are doing that is because you have to market a product that people will pay money for.
That’s a misalignment between what our society needs and the commercial imperatives that these companies are facing, not because necessarily they’re trying to do bad things, but because they’ve got to justify these valuations.
So, that’s one more reason why it is really important for us to have a competent government and a serious bipartisan conversation around this issue, and we have to do it fast. And I would encourage voters to pay attention to this. If somebody does not have a serious plan for how to deal with this, then they’re not meeting the moment, and you should probably look for somebody else."
