Today, the USPTO released new patent eligibility guidance for #AI inventions. Importantly, the USPTO explained that "many claims to AI inventions are eligible as improvements to the functioning of a computer or improvements to another technology or technical field."

At Consensus, I talked to some of the people at the CFTC and I asked if they were planning to hire some people who were crypto/software experts in anticipation of the FIT21 bill passing. And they were like “Nooooo we can do the same market analysis we’ve been doing.” 🤦‍♂️

@PabloEnriqueEsq 1. As @eliana_esq said, this appears to be a trademark claim for the subreddit’s use of ChatGPT’s logo.

2. Reddit may have a fair use defense - that the logo is being used for commentary about the product and does not make users think that ChatGPT is the one commenting.

Reading between the lines, it appears @ensdomains may be concerned that if the patent is valid, UD could try to assert it against @ensdomains

Yesterday, ENS petitioned to challenge the validity of UD’s patent. As I mentioned in a @blockworks article from earlier this year on the issue, ENS appears to be asserting that the invention in the UD patent was not new since ENS created this earlier.
