Rufai, stop laundering speculation as analysis.
Lagos flooding did not start because of the Coastal Road. Lagos is a low-lying coastal city on the Gulf of Guinea, and flooding has been a recurring problem for years, long before this project.
You said “it’s been speculated” that the road blocked drainage channels. Speculated by who? Twitter engineers? WhatsApp hydrologists? Or the usual emergency experts who only remember drainage when they want to attack government?
Even reports on the Coastal Highway flooding issue have pointed to blocked drains, refuse, vandalism and water retention concerns — not your neat political headline that “coastal road caused unprecedented Lagos flooding.”
This is exactly why verification matters. You can’t shout “EIA” today and ignore geography, rainfall, blocked canals, illegal structures, waste dumping, poor drainage habits and Lagos’ coastal reality tomorrow.
Journalism is not “it has been speculated.” Bring evidence, not vibes.
You can throw insults all day, but they won't change the facts.
So the Gulf of Mexico, which has influenced Houston's coastal flooding for decades through storm surge, hurricanes, and heavy rainfall, is caused by the Brazos River now? Is that seriously the argument you're making?
Instead of calling people names, verify your claims before posting. Geography isn't based on vibes. If you're going to correct others, at least make sure you're not confusing a coastal gulf with an inland river system.
Next time, spend less time insulting people and more time checking the evidence. It'll save you the embarrassment of having to defend an avoidable mistake.

A particular presidential candidate recruited 5 influencers, 4,000 social media attackers, imported 4,000 techno phones in 2023 to tear this country down. Much of what you see online are influenced to paint the country black. That online mob has grown to 11,000.
China did not pull 800 million people out of poverty in 3 years. Dubai did not do it in 3 years. No nation did it in 3 years. Tinubu cannot pull 230 million Nigerians out of poverty in three years. What is he doing is putting the nation on the path to that recovery and growth.
