To Die For (1995) is a dark crime thrilled disguised as a goofy black comedy. Strange narratively and at times experimental, it wears its 90s indie roots on its sleeve, to great effect. Eerily prescient too. And what a performance from Kidman. Damn she was good, and so sexy.
@JosephKahn $300 a day!?! I barely made $100 a day for over a decade when I lived in LA and I had a full time job. I would have killed for $300. I'd kill for $300 now.
I know when I've contractually agreed to work on a project for a company for X amount of money, and that project ends up earning said company way more money than they paid me, I have every right to demand more money than I was given because, uh.... Oh, wait, I don't, because that's not how the nature of employment works. You agree to a fee up front for the work rendered and that's it. Unless you have it in writing otherwise, nobody owes you squat for the fruits of your labor above and beyond what you initially agreed to.
@RoyPrice Whoa Spencer Pratt got that many votes? Hot damn. Even if he doesn't win, which he likely won't, it's clear his ideas and platform speaks to a lot of people. There might be hope for LA (and California) after all. People are sick of this leftist shit.
It's interesting that out of all Biblical sins, pride is considered the worst. Not murder, not theft, not deception, but pride. Why is this? And does this make humility the highest of virtues?
A disturbing pattern I noticed, first with the Iryna Zarutska stabbing in Charlotte, now with Henry Nowak in England and likely others, is black people (and other various shades) justifying their violence/murder of white people by claiming they were called naughty words, as though uttering certain magical epithets made them impervious to being charged with assault or murder.
In both cases, and likely the majority of others, the victims didn't use any racially charged language, but even if they had, even if they screamed the N-word (or whatever) right into the faces of these jackasses, it does not justify the use of violence in retaliation, let alone murder. Seems like an obvious point I don't see brought up. I blame BLM for these idiots thinking otherwise, though.
Got rejected by my first actor today after I asked to collaborate on an AI film. Not sure if it was the AI or something more personal, but fuck them either way.
@Variety Ironic as The Rolling Stones was considered a rip off of The Beatles in its day, not to mention they got their name from a Bob Dylan song, so probably not the best example to use when talking about originality in art.
@DESTROPOCALYPSE@BegTheGhost Admittedly not well. But hey, we all still have access to the technology and it's not too expensive to use. Some is even free. So, uh, there's that.
@DESTROPOCALYPSE@BegTheGhost OpenAI fed their system lots of data with the intention of it becoming an open source, not-for-profit technology that would benefit mankind.
@mikediva@CvatikPhoto The irony of your response being that you're someone who works for one of the most nepotistic, connection-reliant shows that has ever existed. How many times did you have to blow Lorne Michaels to get the gig? SNL sucks btw.
Subscribed to X to give the Grok image/video/chat thing a try. Video is good but 5-10 6 second clips a day is way too little. The image editor is really good, though, and the chat is also excellent. May upgrade if the video keeps improving. $30 a month is a good deal.
