The stache finally presents! @amirlavasani_ did an incredible job presenting his poster at the EUS which asks how hard are Urologist pushing when inserting sheaths? You’d be surprised at who’s pushing over the safety threshold. Some food for thought.
ONE TWO PUNCH! @MccormacAmanda delivered two invigorating presentations on ureteral distensibility and safely placing 16 Fr access sheaths. A job well done Amanda #AUA23@UCI_Urology
And the best poster of the session goes to… @MccormacAmanda! Incredible presentation and poster from Amanda which sparked a great thought provoking conversation on the use of sheaths. #AUA2023
Wow! I didn’t realize the abstract yesterday on alkali water had this accompanying hand out on alkali content of common beverages. Nice work @UciUrop. Citrate content also available? QR code also available. #AUA23
Amanda mccormac (med student) showing mean ureter size unstented is 14F. 16F if prestented. No benefit from tamsulosin preop. Force sensor ensures < 6N. Nice work! #AUA23
Amanda mccormac presents another one. 58% of patients were able to have a 14/16F UAS. 68% were prestented. Factors assoc w 14/16F success = prestented, pos ucx w/n 60d, preop abx use. Unclear why the last two were assoc w success #AUA23
