Stop with the fake news @radiookapi That photo is NOT recent and it’s NOT of the Rwanda-Tanzania border at Rusomo - it’s of the DRC-Burundi border at Gatumba last February.
It is NOT connected to the current Ebola outbreak in DRC.
And there definitely are NO such crowds at any Rwandan border.
Radio Okapi should correct this, misinformation is dangerous.
I refuse to associate with the Kenyan third-world mentality of referring to reckless driving as "matatu culture." It’s the most primitive thing ever normalized. Take an example from Rwanda’s capital Kigali.
You’d think it was somewhere like Banff or Canmore, but this is an East African country with a civilized society, not the nonsense we see back home.
This is how a government-controlled public transport system works: also no hawkers blocking pedestrians, perfectly paved sidewalks, and clean, well-maintained healthy grass.
To become first world, you have to accept first-world responsibilities. Unfortunately, the Kenyan reality is blame games and constant political bureaucracy amplified by tribalism.
This evening at BK Arena, President Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame attended the opening day of the 2026 @theBAL Playoffs, where Rwanda’s RSSB Tigers defeated Morocco’s FUS Rabat, 95–72.
Today at Green Hills Academy, President Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame joined Grandparents Day, where they enjoyed traditional Rwandan performances by the school’s Nursery Three learners.
The day offered grandparents a memorable opportunity to celebrate Rwandan culture alongside their grandchildren.
Our Integrated Annual Report 2025 highlights a structural repositioning of the bank as the central enabler of Rwanda’s development financing ecosystem, marked by the historic achievement of surpassing FRW 1 trillion in total assets, a 30% increase year-on-year.

On the sidelines of the @africaceoforum, we have officially signed an investment agreement with the African Local Currency Bond Fund (ALCB Fund), managed by Cygnum Capital Group Ltd, and reopened its second Sustainability-Linked Bond issuance in Rwandan francs.
This partnership marks an important step in attracting international investors into Rwanda’s capital markets and increasing long-term funding in local currency.
The investment will support key sectors that contribute to Rwanda’s development, including affordable housing, business growth, job creation, and enterprises that create positive impact in communities.
We thank Cygnum Capital Group Ltd, ALCB, and TCX for their partnership and trust in Rwanda’s growth journey.
This milestone reflects growing confidence in Rwanda’s sustainable finance market and the country’s long-term development vision.
