@AnCeithearnach@thepaulwilliams How many kids watching TNT because their parents have a sub due to parents watching premier league football. Plus a lot of people have TNT through their EE phone or internet plans. Premier sports can’t replicate that exposure.
@AnCeithearnach@thepaulwilliams Correct, but it all start at the bottom. Getting kids playing, keeping kids playing when they grow up and attracting new audiences outside the usual middle to upper class white people. A whole big bit of that is down to the RFU being crap, but also, exposure.
@AnCeithearnach@thepaulwilliams Plus, my point was about potential, and growth of the game. Not current viewing figures. Rugby in general, and specifically in England, desperately needs to grow audience and participation numbers.
@thepaulwilliams Not trying to imply England is more important than the URC countries (or their viewers), but from a purely business/ trying to grow the game point of view, it makes no sense
@thepaulwilliams Here’s the aspect I don’t get. The population of England is more than the combined population of URC countries. At a time when Rugby desperately needs to grow audience, theyre limiting viewers with the largest potential audience by splitting the coverage?
@ChampionsCup@PremSportsTV lol, this is incredibly dumb. For many many reasons, but especially seeing as I, and many others, can’t even get premier sports on Sky Stream.
