@lauhakari Samsung has bluetooth remotes, but I’m not sure about other brands. It seems like a no-brainer these days.

It’s super convenient since you don’t have to point it at the TV, and you can even use it from another room if needed.

@PovilasKorop Small amount of logic solely for UI purposes is completely fine in Blade. Although I personally like to use one-liners for simple assignments.

@php($hasSubmenu = isset($menu[submenu])) looks a bit cleaner.

Laravel Herd and its embedded PHP binaries are amazing. Memory usage on a typical page load on a current project dropped from ~50 MB to 8 MB compared to a Homebrew install.

Everything runs so smoothly now 🏄‍♂️

This will make a huge impact on my local developing.

@owenconti Absolutely nothing wrong with using native functions when it makes sense and is more performant or more readable like in your example.

Just to play safe, remember to use mb_strtoupper instead of strtoupper when you are dealing with natural language.

I have been using Hetzner Cloud for 4 years now, and I have zero complaints. Hetzner also has a datacenter in Helsinki, which is nice when building mainly for Finnish audience.

Too bad those arm64 instances aren’t available in Helsinki just yet.

Did a small benchmark between DigitalOcean and Hetzner's new arm64 instance.

Hetzner: 2 vCPU + 4GB = $4,17 p/m
DigitalOcean: 2 vCPU + 4GB = $24 p/m
