Yesterday I met with someone who represents the top 3 most dangerous jobs: loggers, electricians and commercial fishermen. My did was the first two of the 3. I remember for a while we hung ropes in the tree in our back yard and I would come home after school and hook myself in and climb up the three so I could repel down. He got cancer 3 times from Agent Orange, on when I was in grade school. It came back when I was in college. And again just a couple years ago. The VA acknowledge the direct relationship between his Agent Orange exposure and his cancer. On top of that, the harsh radiation treatment for his first fight with cancer damaged his heart and lungs, something that didn’t show up until later in life. He lived a long life, but it would’ve been longer if he hadn’t been regularly soaked in Agent Orange during Vietnam. He’d still be here.

The results of being exposed to toxic chemicals can vary, but one thing is clear. It’s killing veterans sooner than natural causes would.

Most of the cases are now closed or likely to be closed soon, and the federal agencies are being defanged by DOGE.

On Monday my dad died of complications related to his Agent Orange exposure while serving in the Vietnam War. This same week the Federal Administration took care and services away from #veterans just like my dad. I’m furious.
