Being the eldest child & daughter is a thankless job with very little to no support, full of responsibilities and expectations we never asked for but were naturally forced into.
I love my family AND IM TIRED😭
I swear life be feeling lonely asf sometimes and I know nobody will fully understand your story and your pain but DAMN….can SOMEBODY meet me where I’m at??? 😭
One of the best things you can do for yourself in adulthood, is to learn how to leave things alone.
Just leave it alone. Situations, people, whatever it is, leave it alone.
If you’re triggered by a written message, don’t reply.
Call.
That long Slack, email, or text that sets you off?
The worst thing you can do is fire back with a carefully crafted response.
You’re either reacting emotionally or building a case for why you’re right, and both make things worse.
Here’s a better rule: no important or emotional conversations over text.
Ever.
Written communication strips context, tone, and intent. It’s a breeding ground for misunderstanding and unnecessary drama.
Instead, escalate immediately.
Pick up the phone.
Talk it out.
Get curious about their perspective before defending yours.
Most conflict needs a real conversation, not more words.
When you escalate the conversation, the drama evaporates.
Boundaries do not require explanation.
Kindness do not require reciprocation
Moving on doesn’t require a dramatic exit
Healing doesn’t require closure from same people who hurt you.
Let this be your reset in 2026.
