The first named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season could form today, but whether it becomes Arthur or not, a much bigger flood threat is unfolding. @JimCantore has the very latest:

STORM UPDATE - Potential Storm One is trying to organize with a big burst of storms in the NW Gulf of Mexico this morning. However, the National Hurricane Center says the storms are displaced too far east of the center to name it #Arthur — yet. Name or no name, all of that nasty weather is coming your way tonight Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Regardless if this becomes Arthur I’m concerned somebody will see a significant flood where the training tropical rain bands set up later tonight. The feeder bands east of the center will also produce strong tropical storm force gusts of 40-60 MPH. Pay close attention to the weather heading into tonight because it’s going to rough for somebody. #tropicalupdate 🌀
