While I have a platform I want to add to the chorus of people stating that creators sign contracts with zero understanding that they are actually signing themselves up to be owned by a literal mafia who are willing to murder for your publishing rights.
These owners would rather force talent into a conservatorship, destroy their reputation via the media, and/or murder them, before they let allow them to move on from their control.
Nobody can go into these sort of contracts with their eyes wide open because these are not business arrangements with sensible employers— these are business arrangements with a mafia.
In most circumstances they have judges, lawyers, journalists and even law enforcement in their back pocket.
