Don’t be afraid to say “racism”. I know many working in schools have to be careful with what is publicly shared, but if you are proud of your “diverse” school populations, you also have an obligation to create a safe (and brave) space for your students + staff.
Educators: please talk to your students. At the bare minumum, address what us going in right now with current events. Don’t be afraid to address the reasons behind the protests. Because many youth are experiencing first-hand or second-hand trauma.
The news has been much harder to watch lately (than it’s usual roller coaster). Please - remember to talk about these current events with our youth. They are experiencing this AT THE SAME TIME we are. Let them speak up, share their emotions, and *listen*.

But it ALSO means hitting up the ones I *am* a part of and try to move the social justice needle in the right direction.
