After a delayed flight north from Dallas, the #DoaneTF team is on the final leg of their journey back to Crete at a bit after 1 a.m. Sunday. It has been another memorable season with some truly spectacular accomplishments by our Tiger athletes, and I’ve again been privileged to be right smack in the middle of it all. Thanks to all of you out there who follow along, and we’ll see you for cross country season!
Ladies and gentlemen, the #DoaneTF women's 4x100 relay team…extremely tense just prior to their prelim victory today
Just the right amount of goofy? Yes.
Very, very fast and dedicated to their mission? Also yes.
Posing in the wrong order? Certainly.

I've posted more than a few of these types of posts below, down through the years…and I just hope that it never seems routine or blasé to us out of sheer repetition.
Because we should never take results like this for granted. They don't just happen because we put our orange and black shirts on and show up to the meets.
Results like this are created over days and weeks and months through a painstaking process undertaken by #DoaneTF athletes and coaches. What would seem to most like mind-numbing details attended to every day at practice (and plans for those practices) by the dedicated practitioners of our sport yield these kinds of numbers.
Every exercise, every lift, every jump, every 150-meter repeat and every mile, every day means something.
So, let's celebrate! But at the same time, let's not forget what got us here.
Curtis, time to order two more new banners.
Kat's time today at Drake was No. 2 on the #DoaneTF all-time list, second only to her school record-breaking and NAIA-leading time of :53.32 two weeks ago

💪Fuel like an athlete and you'll perform like an athlete 💪
Elite athletes:
-Sleep 8-11 hrs/night
-Eat two breakfasts
-Snack on protein + carbs
-Eat 2-5 fruits and veggies daily
-Avoid screens before bed and before activity
-Fuel up with 3-4 meals that contain all food groups
-Drink milk at meals & H20 in between to stay hydrated
-Refuel & rehydrate post-training with plenty of carbs + protein + fluid
Gushers, candy bars, soda, or a bag of potato chips aren’t healthy snacks for anyone let alone student athletes on game day! https://t.co/Hdd6iA1CBy
Nutrition is your secret weapon!
“I trusted in Him not just in the good, but in the bad [this season]. I understand that suffering is good for us, as followers of Jesus. I’m taking that into my next route in [pastoral] ministry - Just leading people by example, as a servant, like Jesus was.”
- High Point Guard Chase Johnston after their loss vs Arkansas
Johnston was wearing a “Jesus Wins” shirt too 👏
