@keiththecop @realDonaldTrump @POTUS I was in the Army at the time when Iran contra all broke. I voted for Reagan, Loved Oliver North, But it hurt me as a soldier at the time, That what I thought I knew and trusted in the system was not true at all. I took a long time to get over.

I’m flying on a plane back from England and I’m watching Reagan. There was a point where President Reagan had to make the decision on going in front of the American people and admitting he was wrong and lied. Wrong about knowing the truth of Iran Contra. He had to take the chance to be the President we all needed and be truthful with the American people. To fall on the proverbial sword. He did and he was forgiven and remembered for it.
Mr. President, like many other Americans we saw something the other day that ways heavy on our minds.
As you sat in the cabinet meeting you made the decision to step in when @AGPamBondi was questioned about the #epsteinfiles. Mr. President, you disappointed a lot of Americans with your statement. I know there are many things that are going on in the country and the world that may be and are more important that the files. But nothing is more important than your word. You gave us that word. The people you put in your cabinet that we stand behind and support gave us your word. In that moment you stepped in and took the question for AG Bondi you broke your word.
Since you came down the golden escalator, we have supported you. There were many things that the American people endured to stand behind you because we believe in you. We believe in what you represent. We stuck with you through all the lies they threw at you and all the missteps.
This moment in time with the Epstein Files is your Iran Contra. The American people know there’s more to the story. The American people know there’s a list. It may be damaging to many leaders in our country. Leaders from around the world. Damaging to many people we look up to and admire. It may take some of them down. But what addressing America yourself will do regardless of the content of the files, will be to solidifying your word to the American people. It will restore our faith that there’s at least one person willing to tell us the truth. No matter what the cost.
Mr President, you tout your love of President Reagan. I was only a young teenager when he addressed the Iran Contra debacle from the Oval Office to the American people. But watching it on this plane right now, I can’t help but feel that many Americans lost faith in President Reagan for his lies and silence of Iran Contra. It bears a stark resemblance to what just happened with the Epstein Files. But hearing the speech again, it showed leadership and acceptance of responsibility. It showed that faith in the presidency can be restored with owning a mistake and sharing the truth with the American people.
I for one can forgive a misstep of saying there’s nothing more to talk about. If people around you said “Mr President you can’t do this”. But if you searched hard enough inside and told the American people the truth, we can accept the mistake for the truth.
Mr President we’re Americans. We’ve been through so many controversies in my lifetime and before. But we endure. We will endure whatever this may contain. We will forgive and we will grow. But like many Americans, until we get the truth, the truth that is told to us from you personally to the American people, I will be skeptical. We will all be skeptical.
You have a moment in history to set the record straight. A moment in history to go down as a President as great as Ronald Reagan. Mr President, do the right thing. Show us you are the man we all believed you are.
America is watching. The world is watching. Cease the moment. Be as great as we know you can be. Release the Epstein Files. It’s what President Reagan would have done. It’s what we expect you to do.
