@J4m35c4mpb3ll@thomsonchris Erm,
1) its a bot account fishing for interactions
2) there were two Scottish commentators and 3 Scottish pundits in the studio
@TheMeldrew@narindertweets Do you not see the irony in using a vulgar, vile word for a woman’s genitalia whilst accusing someone of being a misogynist?
@gorses77@shannonsbrokey@GlenSmith174927@annavanpraagh The fact he couldn’t grasp the difference between inheritance and income tax or how trusts work was pretty astounding. Like most bankers and stock brokers, @garyseconomics likes the sound of his own voice but never actually listens…
@Splodgehappy No, it looks terrible for a die hard labour supporter such as yourself. One of the lefts biggest problems is they can’t see past the end of their own nose. Giving Kier, Miliband and the petulant Phillipson a good verbal bashing goes down pretty well for most of the public.
@DanyD696969@Capt_Fishpaste That’s fair enough but you didn’t really have a chance with Leeds in for him.
He’s got 4 Welsh team mates here, he signed for us last summer only for Fulham to pull the plug (shows faith in him from us), and no offence to S’land, but Leeds have so much more potential.
@SuperCoolEskimo@itvfootball He couldn’t get in the Leeds team in the Championship and his attitude stunk the place out. Ended up cutting his loan short and sending him back to Spurs in January.
@Budgiekiller@LizWebsterSBF@ByDonkeys Everything goes up anyway. Minimum wage doesn’t affect the Iran war putting 100 a tonne on fert. Tax credits don’t affect the increasing costs of importing machinery from EU. There are always variables and the idea of subsidies is to make sure food remains affordable despite them
@Budgiekiller@LizWebsterSBF@ByDonkeys I’m not sure about the relevance or the point you’re trying to make? Farmers are self employed - there is no minimum wage 😂
@Budgiekiller@LizWebsterSBF@ByDonkeys We break even with the subsidies, once it was BPS, now it’s SFI. Not all farmers have been able to sign up and there isn’t much clarity yet how the new SFI will be rolled out. Hence why we lost 10,000 farms in 5 years. Prices can’t rise fast enough to keep farms in business.
@Budgiekiller@LizWebsterSBF@ByDonkeys Good question. Farming isn’t done for money, it’s done because many don’t know anything else. Farms are in families for generations, it’s a vocation not a job.
@Budgiekiller@LizWebsterSBF@ByDonkeys So most small farms have another income stream which pays the bills. In effect subsidising the food ourselves. There is also SFI and stewardship payments currently which is matching BPS.
Remove these, yes most smaller farms would go bust.
