Pacific Islands Students Fighting Climate Change

We are the Pacific youth movement behind the ICJ climate ruling, now using it to secure the future we want.

🟥 RED CARD

"1.5°C is aspirational" — no. The ICJ said it's binding under international law. Full stop.

Nearly one year on from the Advisory Opinion. No extra time. No excuses. Just obligations.

One thing’s clear, the legal temperature target is 1.5°C not 2°C.

The ICJ’s Advisory Opinion confirms that states have a binding legal obligation to hold the 1.5°C limit.

The ICJ ruling is based on the Law. Your Opinion isn’t. One point five to stay alive.

The UN has welcomed the Court’s rulings, marking a major turning point for climate accountability and reinforcing States’ legal obligations to prevent further climate harm!

Today, we reaffirm not only the ICJ ruling, but also the power of multilateralism and global unity. 🇺🇳✊

In this commentary, Hon. Minister Ralph Regenvanu argues that the UN must act on the International Court of Justice’s landmark climate ruling — because the rule of law means little without enforcement.

.@ICJ_CJI has spoken. A #UNGA resolution led by @VanuatuUN turns the ruling into action to uphold intl. law & advance #ClimateJustice. The roadmap exists; political will is missing.

It’s high time to #ActOntheClimateRuling: States must support & co-sponsor the resolution!

“I have seen my home underwater.”

For many in the Pacific, this is not a warning. It is memory.

Endorsing the UNGA Climate Resolution is how states turn words into protection — for homes like Bedi Racule’s in the Marshall Islands, and for futures still worth saving.

April Fools? We wish.

Every statement here is real for Pacific communities, except the one some people still choose to believe.

Don’t be fooled by climate misinformation. The Pacific is living the truth.

“…once a home, now a memory…”

In the Solomon Islands, Walande Island is already gone. Climate change is erasing homes now.

States must endorse the UNGA Climate Resolution before it’s too late.

Water is life.

In the Pacific, climate change is turning that truth into a crisis.

Act like water is life. Because it still is.

As H.E. Mary Robinson reminds us, the path to climate justice is clear, now States must take it.

The United Nations General Assembly has both the opportunity and the responsibility to act: to walk this path, uphold the rule of law, and endorse the resolution.

“The washing away of any inch of the precious coastline hurts the very vein of our existence.”

For Pacific communities, climate change is lived—graves, homes, histories at risk with every cyclone and king tide.

States must act now. Endorse the UNGA resolution.
