[The Siouxsie of Inisherin @pitythewicked]

@Warpstar_707 @acebolter @fauxfilosopher ?? yes the lie does change whether it’s unethical by his standards. his standards are that he doesn’t want to support the industry that’s hurting tuna by overfishing. buying from some pretentious hippie farmer does not support that industry

@Warpstar_707 @acebolter @fauxfilosopher

[The Siouxsie of Inisherin @pitythewicked]

@acebolter @fauxfilosopher thank you 😊

[The Siouxsie of Inisherin @pitythewicked]

twitter users love to assert that they understand a deliberately difficult, layered, intellectual movie better than its creators the week it came out

[The Siouxsie of Inisherin @pitythewicked]

@acebolter @fauxfilosopher listen i agree that Ganesh’s hypocrisy is a far more central theme of the movie, but it’s a nuanced movie and this was a rather straightforward rape metaphor scene. lowkey the same meaning as the pre-epilogue end of the Brutalist

[The Siouxsie of Inisherin @pitythewicked]

okay

[The Siouxsie of Inisherin @pitythewicked]

@joshbecker659 eh you can abstract it to covid. they even put a pandemic line in there so u know ur allowed to

[The Siouxsie of Inisherin @pitythewicked]

@gavi_kaplan @fauxfilosopher it literally takes place on Digger’s airplane

[The Siouxsie of Inisherin @pitythewicked]

@fauxfilosopher right, i don’t think the metaphor works because i don’t think he really wanted to eat the tuna, he did it under personal threat from one of the most powerful men in the world, literally on his airplane
