Hey, @Adobe - how about implementing set ‘em and forget ‘em filter preferences for Adobe Stock searches? It’d be nice if we didn’t have to reset ‘em every time.
My 3 favourite resources for learning how to design beautiful user interfaces (even if you’re not a designer)...
I started out as a frontend developer.
When transitioned to UI/UX design, I lacked skills in colour, typography, spacing etc. So I spent time searching for the best resources to sort this out.
Here are the 3 resources that helped me most:
Resource #1: Design Fundamentals by @lauraelizdunn
I loved how Laura gets you from that uncomfortable blank page. And takes you to finished design in a very approachable step by step process.
Resource #2: Learn UI by @erikdkennedy
I loved how Erik breaks down visual design using heuristics that you don’t need a degree to understand.
Resource #3: Refactoring UI by @steveschoger and @adamwathan
I loved how Steve and Adam’s super concise tips take your designs from a 5/10 to at least an 8/10 in no time.
Struggle with a creative project all afternoon only to realize (THUNDERBOLT!!) how straightforward it should’ve been…AFTER I’d logged off for the day. I’ll be beating myself up all night. 😞
I really need a full-time gig. Between form “thanks, but…” responses and no-response-at-all responses, it’s damned difficult not to become demoralized.
I spoke with a #recruiter end of last week about a casket company that's looking for a #GraphicDesigner. Followed up this morning via email - said that I was dying to know if there'd been any movement.
Too much? 🤣
This is shockingly obscene on so many levels with unqualified officials arresting elementary age black children for the non-crime of not STOPPING a crime.
Three police officers went to an *elementary* school in Tennessee & arrested four Black girls.
One girl fell to her knees. Another threw up. Police handcuffed the youngest, an 8 yo with pigtails.
Their supposed crime? Watching some boys fight — and not stopping them. (THREAD)
