This morning, I joined members of the government, family, friends, and supporters at National Heroes Park to honour the life and legacy of The Most Honourable Edward Seaga on the 96th anniversary of his birth.
Former Prime Minister Seaga dedicated his life to the development of Jamaica. From strengthening the economy and expanding infrastructure to preserving and promoting Jamaican culture and music, his work helped shape the Jamaica we know today.
As we laid floral tributes in his honour, we reflected on his service to the country and his deep commitment to the Jamaican people. His legacy remains an important part of our national story and continues to inspire future generations.
Today, we remember and celebrate the life and legacy of the Most Honourable Edward Seaga on what would have been his 96th birthday.
A visionary leader, statesman, and patriot, Edward Seaga dedicated much of his life to the development of Jamaica and its people. His contributions extended beyond politics, leaving a profound impact on Jamaica’s economic development, culture, and national identity.
As we reflect on his life and contribution, we honour a man whose service to country will never be forgotten.

When Miss Lou discussed the history and technical aspects of Jamaican culture,
She used standard English.
She knew was a time and place for everything and respected her language.

No other administration in Jamaica’s history has undertaken more high-level road infrastructure projects than this Government.
Across the island, this administration continues to plan and execute major road infrastructure developments in Clarendon, St. Elizabeth, Portland, Kingston, St. James and other parishes. #NestaWorks
Major Road Improvements Underway Along Montpellier Main Road
More than 10,000 residents are to benefit from ongoing upgrade works along the Montpellier Main Road corridor under the Shettlewood to Anchovy Infrastructure Upgrade Project.
The project, being implemented in partnership with JSIF and the NWA, includes extensive road rehabilitation and critical pipeline improvement works following damage caused by Hurricane Melissa.
This investment is helping to restore and strengthen the roadway while improving essential water infrastructure for surrounding communities.
We thank motorists and residents for their continued patience and cooperation as work progresses along this important corridor.
