I travel a lot, and moving around with a Ugandan passport isn’t always easy. The visa processes, delays, and costs can be exhausting. We need stronger bilateral agreements that make travel smoother for ordinary citizens—not just officials. @UgandaMFA @GCICUganda

Even today, Ugandans need a visa to travel to DR Congo. @UgandaMFA still has a lot of work to do. For years, visa negotiations have mainly benefited diplomatic and service passport holders—essentially government officials—while ordinary citizens continue to face barriers.

Majority Ugandans are ordinary passport holders and they are the engine of movement for goods, services and labor.

@NkunyingiMuwad1 @UgandaMFA @GCICUganda He has to pay a fine of $5000. In my own case, while set to travel to DRC, I was denied check-in until I presented a valid DRC visa. This forced me to change my flight ticket and incur additional, unplanned costs. Leaving with no option but to process a visa to DRC.
