You Can’t Tax Your Way to Prosperity

The government is working hard to improve Pakistan’s macroeconomic stability. But one major obstacle to investment remains: excessively high taxes on businesses.

No rational investor will risk capital only to hand over 40–50% of profits to the government.

Capital goes where it is welcomed, not punished.

If Pakistan wants investment, jobs and sustained economic growth, it must dramatically reduce the effective tax burden on businesses.

There is simply no other way.
