@cmuratori Same here! I did not doubt Jon's ability to make fun puzzles, but I did doubt his ability to get me to like Sokoban. He's done it regardless!
I do wish there was a better way to review story dialogue though, when it seems like 1000+ puzzles will stretch across many, many days.
@cmuratori@mayank_jee@Wassimulator That's a hilarious clip, but this kind of 4th-wall-breaking horror would actually be fitting for a Daniel Mullins game.
...and that also tells you how bad forced updates have gotten recently.
Projects 3 + 4: A set of utilities to preprocess image files and arrange them into an MPC autofill config. Print-and-play just got easier!

Is a side project worth documenting, even if there's no one to read it? That has been a surprisingly time-consuming part, though it did get me to make the interfaces a bit friendlier in places. (...I swear project 3 is just around the corner, hah)
Don't forget! You can try ALL of these characters this weekend with our Steam Free Weekend!
Check it out starting on Friday at 12:01am PST until Sunday night.

A minor epiphany today: programmers held back from writing great code by clinging to arbitrary mental constructs already has a word in the FGC: "scrub". Mike Acton's data-oriented programming talk is "coding to win", and has upset some people for seemingly the same reasons.
@rfleury@MrJayLC Strong agree. The dream of beautifully composing, water-tight abstractions all the way down is usually just that. Reminds me of the Mencken quote: "For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong."
Yomi 1 was the first fighting card game.
Yomi 2 is THE fighting card game.
Had tons of fun with the digital version, so I highly recommend checking this one out. It really is a clever design with tons of work and attention put into it.
Our @gamefound campaign for #Yomi2 is live and almost funded in the first 12 hrs!
It's a cerebral card battler that emulates old-school arcade fighting games like Street Fighter.
Check out our campaign at the link below!

@Marky_X_ I see a Knizia shelf, very classy. Tragically missing Ra, though.
Tigris is a great game, but for a starter, Thunder Road would be a better pick.
...Both a bit murder-y picks, huh.
Project 2: An HTML-based card image compositing utility. Hackiest code ever, but if I can outsource worrying about text layout and effects to the browser and get a live preview while I'm at it, why the heck not. Repo here: https://t.co/fT6amqR4ny
Project 1: the code I'm currently using for text templating. The goal was to keep things minimal (200 LOC), but still handle common use cases with both the input AND the output looking reasonable. Check out the repo for details: https://t.co/xHa3XOhZLm
...already interestingly, it seems, thanks to Xitter. Tried to add an update with links to one of these projects, which seemingly disappeared into the aether. Three times now. Huh.
As part of a non-resolution for 2025, I'll be trying to finish more of my side projects, as opposed to just quitting at the 80% mark or whenever I get bored. Let's see how that goes.
The iOS app meanwhile can take 12 seconds(!) to switch tasks. (The timer starts immediately, but the UI isn't updated).
How is it possible that computers this powerful can't even keep up with my slow-ass organic typing?! I don't remember it being this bad initially, either. 2/2
Been using Toggl Track recently to figure out where my time goes. Convenient, even has an iOS app. But the performance is atrocious: the web version takes 3-4s to select the project based on the exact name, with typing being laggy in-between characters. 1/2
@Sirlin Saying "Yomi 2" or "Codex: FOW updates" feels like a copout here (though true), so I'll say I'm looking forward to season 2 of Severance! Feels like a cross between Twin Peaks and The Office, both of which are also amongst my favourite shows.
