They said it would take 193 years to clean Londonโs air. We did it in nine. ๐จ
London has now met legal limits for nitrogen dioxide air pollution.

ANNOUNCEMENT: a website for building and sharing maps with xatra.
(link in next tweet)
"You will never need MS Paint again. You will never again google for the district map of a country to color with your little fill tool. xatra is the correct way of making maps---historical maps (static or dynamic, i.e. with a time slider), data maps, maps of administrative regions, whatever. It is also totally modular; so you can import other people's maps into yours and compose maps out of them."
Love this! Cities are for people, not cars. Yet, we allocate so much precious space to the automobile. There's a reason why cities with the best quality of life around the world have fewer cars. More parks, housing and less noise/carbon pollution.

Air pollution is linked to higher rates of depression. It disproportionately impacts women!

For the cost of one metro line, cities can build an entire BRT network. BRT offers rapid deployment, wider coverage, and high passenger throughput, making it one of the most cost-effective mass urban mobility solutions.

In the smallest of towns and the biggest of cities, reducing or eliminating parking minimums help boost small businesses, promote housing development, and support economic sustainability. https://t.co/EGKyZ380uf

Traffic is not like water flowing through pipes. Its more like a gas that fills all the space we give it.

"The problem with buses," writes transportation planner Nithin Vejendla in Work in Progress, "is that they are slow." The same thing could also be said about other surface transit routes like Toronto's streetcars, including some of our new lines.

Instead of a blanket ban, authorities should organize eโrickshaw operations and/or introduce high-frequency small shuttle buses with dedicated stops; otherwise, the ban simply removes the most accessible low-cost option without providing an alternative.

Jaipurโs recent ban on eโrickshaw movement inside the Jaipur Walled City is, in my view, a misplaced solution. Eโrickshaws are an affordable, frequent lastโmile feeder that helps most peopleโresidents, commuters, and touristsโmove between key points in and around the old city.
The problem is not the mode itself, but poor management: unregulated routes, unorganised boarding/alighting, and a lack of designated lanes and stops.

@IndianTechGuide It is easy to see the dirt on the white sheets used by Indian Railways. Now, they are introducing colored sheets so the dirt won't be easily visible.
