The post should have first looked at the revenue of the two states in terms of IGR, what comes from Fed acct& the opportunity cost. What is considered extravagant in relation to a man who earns #100k won't be an extravagancy when talking about a man that earns #1m.
Two Governors. Same Region. Impressive Credentials. Opposite Decisions.
One governor, a former Managing Director/CEO of one of Nigeria’s top five banks, decided to convert the newly built government house, constructed by his immediate predecessor, into a hotel. Why? He deemed it too luxurious and costly to maintain. With his background in banking, he understands cost, value, and responsible spending.
The other governor, a professor of finance and former Governor of the Central Bank, made it a priority to build a brand new, extravagant government house and even held a lavish commissioning ceremony to unveil it.
Both leaders have stellar academic and professional credentials. Both understand finance, cost, and expenditure. Yet, when faced with the same issue, they made completely different choices.
This is why educational qualification should not be the sole basis for selecting leaders.
Not all impressive credentials translate to good governance. True leadership is about values, vision, and the willingness to put the people above personal legacy.
Time reveals so much about people, obviously Alex Otti was the best thing that happened to Abia State. Only two years and results are popping up left right centre.

Nigeria is a country where government box you into thinking the way it prefers is the only way.
Is it be the duty of Nigerians to tackle smuggling so that we won't be subsidizing for Africa? Subsidy removal was simply government transferring the burden of its failure on citizens
If fuel sells in Nigeria for N250 per litre and N1200 in Cotonou or Cameroon, all that the smuggler needs to do is open 5 fuel stations in Badagry or Gella in Adamawa. Lift ten 60,000L trucks per week and move them across the border. He' ll make N800 per litre on 600,000 litres.
That's 480m weekly, and he is not the only one. They are in thousand and other smaller guys with jerry cans, some even fill up their car tanks and cross the border numerous times to resell.
Out of our 65m estimated daily consumption maybe 20m goes through this smuggling route. That's an estimated N16bn daily smuggling revenue. This is enough money to fight and corrupt any system you dream to put in place as a leader. From head to toe.
The issue is, why create an incentive for corruption then turned around to start fighting a battle that has never been won by any human any where in the world?
The genocide recorded in the war remains regrettable but we should stop acting as if Ojukwu&his goons were victims in the war. It was simply a war of ego btw Ojukwu&Gowon.
Both Biafra&Nigeria abused minority rights.
That said, what's posted here is a figment of your imagination
Hypocrisy stinks! What Kemi has done is to echo the silent labeling of many a southern Nigerian against those of us from the North. Interestingly, Northerners have their own labels too for Southern Nigerians.
We don't love each other but like to paint a phoney image of unity.
I think Kemi is being disingenuous by playing the racial card. That’s what a rabid opportunist will always do. There is a difference between tribe and nationality, taking a swipe at the people from the North is a fallacy of ignoble proportions.Kemi Badenoch says she is a cultural warrior and with her new message has become a rabid tribal warrior too. History is replete with stories on people like Kemi, we know the score but to what end for power? Power is obviously insidiously corrupting her! She is fast sounding like Gobbels with her tunnel vision. I am Nigerian and I am proud
@PoliticsBeyondB It's good to hear from you, Bola but I enjoyed every bit of the discussion although I do not think the Trump apocalypse was unprecedented. Bola and Precious mentioned some of these in the choices made by the DNC.
When you see this, you will think the whole of the SE is one El Dorada even it can qualify for a Hell given the poor atate of development.
No tribe in Nigeria can absolve itself of being an enabler of bad leadership, nepotism, and tribalism. Pure fact!
@FS_Yusuf_ When Yaradua, Obasanjo and Jonathan was in power how come Igbos never engaged in bigotry?.......bro Igbos are allergic to nepotism, bad leadership and tribalism....basic fact
@PoliceNG Is it not shameful that you will allow yourself to be partisan in a political matter involving the landlord of the FCT and the landlord of Rivers. It is even more shameful that that you don't find your irresponsible act very disheartening.
I am not Yoruba but having lived in the Southwest for over 40years,I laugh when sone think all that Yoruba have is èwédú, ẹ̀fọ́, and okra.
It is only a reflection of the limit of the exposure of anyone making such claim.
For those who do not understand where this is coming from, let me just present these screenshots.
1. "Ngbati-ngbati" is a denigrative word people use when they want to mock Yorùbá people. Why would a Yorùbá Chef call Yorùbá foods "ngbati-ngbati Yorùbá food"? Is that not self loathing?
2. Slides 2 and three are what she thinks of Yorùbá men.
3. People tried to educate her in the comments before I quoted. Even @tyewoolove sent two videos. She kept arguing with them.
4. A lot of people have the opinions that SS and SE have better soups. It's subjective and it's fine. I don't have problem with it. I have problem with her statements "Yoruba do not have sumptuous soup"
The ones we have are what?
"I said what I said, Yorùbá don't have soups"... Really?
Check my timeline, I have never and I will never denigrate a tribe. If you or your group come for me or Yorùbá though, I won't think twice before giving you my mind. So, the question is, what does @TheCakeChancery have against Yorùbá people?

One of the worrisome things about thia generation is the audaciousness of their ignorance. Many of them have displayed same on this @thatverydarkman, FF, and @falzthebahdguy issue on Bobrisky.
This post by Jiti Ogunye answers this ignorance succinctly.
One of the dark sides of stunt philanthropy as we have seen in Nigeria is that it increases a sense of entitlement. The beneficiaries of such stunt philanthropy believe they deserve more.
When a carnivore tastes blood, it yearns for more and more.
This kind of thought os funny. The same way he pontificated aboutbhow colonialism “saved” Africa from darkness.
The African culture was a mix of both the physical&spiritual explanatory model. Africans are nurtured to take responsibility for their lives and decisions.
When a government has done nothing but increase the woes of the people, it will become weak and subsequently fear any conscious association of the people.
This government is simply living in the fear of the malady it created.
DSS ALERTS THE PUBLIC OVER PLANNED PROTESTS
The attention of the Department of State Services (DSS) has been drawn to plans by certain individuals and groups to stage physical protests in some parts of the country on 12th June, 2024. The protests are designed with sinister objectives to coincide with the Democracy Day Celebration. While citizens may have the rights of assembly and expression, such freedoms should not be used to undermine public safety and national security.
The determination by some non-state actors to incite mass disaffection through demonstrations that may turn violent will not be tolerated. However, it is instructive to note that violent demonstrations are at variance with the peaceful disposition of the Federal Government to amicably address all contentions including the minimum wage. Citizens are, therefore, called upon to resist any persuasions to be lawless or cause disorder and anarchy in the nation. Displeased persons are rather encouraged to appropriately channel their grievances through the right channels and procedures.
Consequently, the DSS reaffirms its unequivocal position to protect the country from inimical acts being orchestrated by disgruntled groups to cause a breakdown of law and order. It will also sustain collaboration with all relevant stakeholders, including sister security agencies, to maintain the peace as well as protect lives and property across the nation. Law abiding citizens are enjoined to go about their businesses without fear.
The Service, while felicitating the government and citizens on this auspicious occasion of celebrating 25 years of unbroken democracy, calls for continued patriotism, unity and commitment in building a Nigeria of our collective dream. Meanwhile, the DSS website, https://t.co/f3ihNz8La9; email address- [email protected] Telephone lines +2349153391309; +2349088373514 remain open to the public in the event that there is need to contact it.

Among the Koma people in old Gongola state (now Adamawa), when a woman is to get married, they will use a stone to remove her front teeth. This is aside the fact that these people do not used to wear clothes and twins were killed among them until the late 80s.
Have you heard about some of these unusual cultural practices, or are you just finding out?
1. Ikipalin: In the Dani tribe of New Guinea, when a man dies, his wife cuts off her fingers. The fingers represent unity and harmony for them. As the fingers unite and work together, the inability to function properly with some missing fingers represents loss. Ha. Enipe?
These are the supposed leaders of the students' movement. They will fight to the finish because of the patronage they get from government - the financial and manpower mobilization from the state governments and politicians who hope to use the NANS boys to their advantage.
Hello esteemed PPRO @Princemoye1,
Are you aware of the attacks and counter - attacks factional NANS leaders have been launching against one another in Abuja? A young man from Kwara was caught in the latest at Zone 8 and was butchered to near death in broad daylight. It is CRAZY.
