A message from Playing Up

It’s been a while! We’ve been toiling behind the scenes over the last couple of years, attempting to bring our first Arts Council funded project, Playing Up 13, to our audience in some way.
However, the number 13 struck in its typical fashion… (1/5)

Our gratitude to each of these fine people is immeasurable. We thank them and all who came to watch with the entirety of our swollen theatrical hearts.
We hope to return one day, until then we will join you in the enjoyment of grassroots North East theatre.

In the years since, at @northernstage, we have had the pleasure and privilege of producing 75 plays over 12 shows, for which we collaborated with a whopping:
*9 technicians
*34 writers
*34 directors
*124 actors
& countless rehearsal venues
All hailing from the North East. (4/5)

Our script submission window closes at midnight on Monday 31st August and we're still looking for more golden nuggets from the north east writing community.

*runs 10-15 minutes
*with no more than 4 actors (can have more characters, if able to dual-role)

Yes, we'd like names please! We pride ourselves on striking a balance between male and female voices in our final selections. (Goes without saying of course that we're not being exclusionary of trans voices - names are just not quite as helpful for identifying a trans writer)
